Krennic and Deathtrooper article up

What I wonder, I may be a bit odd, is what kid says growing up, "I want to be a death trooper when I turn 18!" 

Maybe the kids that throw lizards into fires, but to have a whole division of them?  Big galaxy I guess.

Seemed to work for the Nazis.  They had a ton of units of guys wearing Death's Head symbols.  What seems odd to some cultures is perfectly normal in others.  Palps/Tarkin may have simply adopted pre-Imperial martial cultures for their own use.

Only thing krennic is worse than leia in terms of survival is his lack of nimble keyword. Other stats are the same. You can aleays put esteemed leader on him and surround him with troopers. Speed 2 is shorter than range 1, so death troopers can either standby for fleets or shoot from range 3 and move away. With supression fleets have 66,66% chance of NOT removing that suprresion whats leaving them with 1 action unless they have officer or leia activates before them. Also for me death troopers have the flexibilty the fleet troopers lack: thry can fight from ANY range band availabe to regular infantry (dlt will give them range 4, range 3 regular rifles). Also youve skipped cover taking effect. With scatter gun 2 hits will be cancelled compleetly. Also death troopers with their grenade launchers ignore cover so one can shoot with grenade launcher and rest can fire their regular 2 dice attack. There are more things to consider here than just numbers and keywords and hardly ever you se just 2 units trading shots with each other and in regular game death troopers can fufill multple roles while scouts or fleets cannot.

You're never perfectly at the very edge of range three and that move is generally enough to get them in range to shoot. Death troopers are flexible, but they are beat at specific roles by other units. I skipped cover because it would have to be given to both sides in that case and wouldn't affect a thing as the fleets still put out more damage than death troopers. The grenade launcher that needs to be reloaded doesn't change much either as you forfeit the ability to aim if you want to use it in quick succession. The fact that a 100+ point generalist unit is struggling so much against a 78 point specialist unit isn't a good look.

Scouts, and too a lesser extent fleets, already fulfill multiple roles. The sniper provides the ability to harass/kill a unit before it can attack back in the strike team and as a powerful fifth wheel in the full team who are going to want to be close and putting out a whole lot of hurt. The saboteur provides area denial and can do so without being near the area in question. I use fleets to draw fire, something that they are great at, so the rest of my force doesn't get shot up while they play the objective or to kill off key units. Currently death troopers look like they'll be great for dealing with rank and file infantry such as rebel troopers, stormtroopers, and snowtroopers. However that armor is going to draw sniper fire as death troopers can't deal with pierce. Furthermore, their damage output is good, but it isn't the best. The scouts from earlier will put out more damage on average while having mobile heavy cover and ignoring some in return. Wookies won't care about the hurt coming at them as they already can outpace it with return fire. My original point was that most basic infantry will be decimated by death troopers, but their strength falls apart once something that doesn't care about armor enters the picture.
