DarkTrooperZero 304 Posted November 20, 2018 Would like some list thoughts please. Veers 4x Stormtroopers with DLT Snowtroopers with flamer 2x Scout Teams with DLT 2x Speeder Bikes with HQ Uplink Speeder Bikes 798 Points It's pretty lean on upgrades but has a lot of units packed into it with 11 activations. I was thinking to maybe drop 1 sniper team to reinvest the 44 points in a 3rd HQ Uplink, some equipment on Veers bulking up the snows and a bigger bid. OR am I better off stripping the uplink to do some of this?

When the Personnel Expansions drop, I'd probably drop the naked Speeder Bikes for a generic Imperial Officer since you have so many Trooper units. Maybe chuck in some Upgrades somewhere to round things out. 1 DarkTrooperZero reacted to this
Hawkstrike 5,408 Posted November 27, 2018 This works extremely well and won a small tournament for me this past weekend: 796/800 General Veers 80 Stormtroopers 44 DLT-19 Stormtrooper, Stormtroopers 44 DLT-19 Stormtrooper, Stormtroopers 44 DLT-19 Stormtrooper, Stormtroopers 44 HH-12 Stormtrooper, Snowtroopers 48 Flametrooper, Impact Grenades, Snowtroopers 48 Flametrooper, Impact Grenades, Scout Troopers (Strike Team) 16 DLT-19x Sniper, Scout Troopers (Strike Team) 16 DLT-19x Sniper, 74-Z Speeder Bikes 90 Long-Range Comlink, 74-Z Speeder Bikes 90 Long-Range Comlink Bikes hit hard but I'm a fan of having a large number of units to grab objectives, and doubel snows + flamer + impact (or fragmentation) are just brutal in close assault. 1 DarkTrooperZero reacted to this
DarkTrooperZero 304 Posted November 28, 2018 Thanks, I imagine that many bodies and activations does go well. I only own 1 unit of snows so think I might drop 1 sniper team to beef up the one unit of snows and gain some equipment. 10 activations seems like enough, 11 starts feeling a little full on. The captn 199 Posted November 28, 2018 9 to 10 activations seems to be sweet spot. Speeder bike could be traded for a few ugrades on the snipers or bikes.

Send in bikes for early damage and then follow up with the infantry? Also curious how you used the normal scout trooper unit too. I was thinking of running a similar list and finally got a box of scout troopers and second speeder bike unit to do so. I've only run a single bike unit a couple times in the past and it never did well so I figured 2+ were necessary if running them.

I've only run a single bike unit a couple times in the past and it never did well so I figured 2+ were necessary if running them. I generally used a steady advance with softening the enemy with long-range shots. Scouts and Snowtroopers were used as Rapid Reinforcements whenever possible (2 out of 3 games ). Otherwise, they are pretty good at advancing up the field, as they have heavy cover on demand thanks to Duck and Cover Also, I noticed people tend to ignore them in favour of other targets (especially when Snows are nearby), because they don't look threatening. And then they get 8 black dice to the face With the bikes, I tried to keep them until last on turn one and the launch them early turn two with Veers command card. They can quickly cover a lot of distance to attack from an unexpected angle, and with 2 squads you have very good firepower and decent survivability. However, when playing them be aware that they will be dead by the end of the game. They need to disrupt the enemy line or, if you have room for that, attack along a flank and then take the enemy from behind. 1 1 Jman444 and Savate reacted to this
