And we know see that Vader KNEW the ships were docked at the time. And Leia has good reason to suspect he knows it. So she's really putting on a show, she knows she probably isn't fooling anyone. Since Motti refers to "stolen datatapes" when Vader says "beamed" the whole thing isn't actually clear in ANH anyways. If you actually taped most people's lives, a lot of unrealistic, unbelievable, things would be said and done. Maybe so? You know, use a little imagination. You could do that, as I said, your toys, play with them as you want. But, I'd be surprised if the Emperor doesn't travel anywhere without at least a Legion of Stormtroopers and Royal Guard to protect him in such an eventuality. Sure, but only so many of them will be able to show up within the incredibly short amount of real-time that 6 rounds represents. I'm of the opinion that after 6 rounds time doesn't just stop, the rest of the Imperials show up and/or Rebel transports get the Rebels the **** out of there. Legion is more about doing what if scenarios than recreating actual movie battles. And to that end, the ultimate what if scenario is asking what happens if Palpatine decides to get involved. Part of the appeal is dirt on the floors and other such verisimilitude. People forget that it is (or was) a huge piece of what defined the franchise.
