andrasea 0 Posted November 18, 2018 I know this has been discussed before, but I think it came to the wrong conclusion. If you were to increase the original value of a special ability die from (0) to a value of (2) or more, I think you should be able to trigger the corresponding Special Ability more than once. My thinking is that when you roll a die showing a face of (2, 3, 4...) ‘Focus’ for example, the result is that you can trigger a “turn die”, when resolving that die, equal to the value of that Focus die. Similarly, when you resolve a Special Ability die with a value of (0), it triggers the corresponding card’s ability once. With that being said, if you were to Resolve a Special Ablility die thats Value was increased by 2 or more (for example Luminar Unduli’s special ability is used to increase one of Yoda’s Special Ability die by +2) when Yoda’s modified Special is Resolved, it should trigger his ability equal to the value of the die; just as a die showing (2) focus enables you to do up to two (2) “die turns”, the result of resolving a (2) resource die triggers the response of gaining 2 resources; likewise resolving a special ability die with a value of 2 or more should trigger that ability equal to the value. I think this is a logical conclusion unless there’s something specifically prohibiting this in the rule book or on SW Destiny DB that states,”When a 1 Special Ability Die is resolved, it can only trigger the corresponding ability once, regardless of the value of the resolved Special Ability Die.”,
kingbobb 159 Posted November 20, 2018 The RRG is really clear on this. Specials always have a value of 0, and cannot be increased or otherwise changed. Ever. It's not really a matter of coming to the wrong conclusion, it's just clearly spelled out in the RRG.
