Rulebook Updated 11/16

I think the 'may' got through because the mars use archive strangely.  With Uxlxyx zookeeper some people have been feeding it the cards they do not want to thin their deck.

I wonder if it would be possible to move the timing of 'destroyed' effects to the start of the owners turn? That way the active player changes before the choice is made.

Are there any destroyed effects that need to be applied immediately?   Or could they all be applied before the forge key step of your turn.

The more elegant solution would be to reverse the ruling on the grounds that saying "you" invokes the "unless otherwise stated by an ability" clause in the decision-making rule.

Why do they even bother writing "if a player" when it may be only the active player? The rules should read "If the active player resolves a "may" ability [...]" to make it less confusing. This wording suggests that the non-active player also gets to make decisions.

Bad wording choice that hopefully will get fixed. But we know only the active player makes order choices and with that FAQ ruling they also now make the “May” choices.

I would agree, but I think their obsessed with having no reaction during the others turn.  The game would survive one reaction, but apparently one is too many for them.

They could probably even remove the 'may' on future printings and online play.

They could FAQ the purge rule saying that it occurs instead destruction. This way there will be no bad-penny-like weird interaction anymore.

As for the "you" we came from over 20 years of card games and we are now used to intend the rulings in a specific way. "you", "you may", "your opponent", etc... they always refer to the controller of the card and always should. If they intend to refer to the active player they should say it clearly writing "the active player".

I agree. However, that is not how FFG has interpreted it on Biomatrix Backup.

Yikes, that Pit Lord + Ristringitus interaction. Can't choose house seems like a quick GG.

You can't do that anymore.  Updated rules don't allow that.  Check the complete rulebook on the Keyforge Master Vault website.  Page 9, "Cannot vs Must".

We've known this for a month now...
