It's important we vote someone if only to get results of the voting, and the estimated 30% success rate of getting a scoundrel.

I'm trying to understand this. If we kill a town (70% chance, with how little information we have), wouldn't we be killing ourselves faster? If we kill clon and find out he's innocent, what information would that give us?

Now that there's a train on clon I'm not sure if I want to vote to lynch him, although I think he's my number 1 suspicion right now.

Could it possibly be better to wait for the first Mafia kill, then decide on a lynch after that?

This is my first time playing semi-open setup, so if you have a good reason for lynching on D1 I want to listen. But after voting to lynch three innocent towns in the last game I played, I want to be cautious.

Emphasis is mine. A no-vote is always a bad idea for town because even if the first lynch flips town, we have information to go off of, such as who voted for that townie to die, which helps us find the scum players.   Voting for no one just allows the scum free reign to sow fear, uncertainty, and doubt.  If we no-vote Clon will probably be looked at just as hard on day two, only this time it will be with one less (or possibly more) players.

So as a rule of thumb, we want to lynch D1 for a few reasons-

1. We can only kill scum during day phase. Not taking that opporunity is essentially handing them a free pass.

2. Seeing how people vote is information, and any and all information we can gather helps. Good scum players may not make that one glaring mistake. We may need to piece together a scum game from seemingly innocuous actions that add up when taken together. As such, we want to garner as much information as possible about or fellow players so we can begin to decipher whose loyalties lie where.

3. This information also allows our investigstive and protective roles some insight as to whom to target.

Yes, more often then not, a D1 lynch will lead to a town death. But the point of it is information anyway.

Warning as well, (which as I write this Pod also gave you) pushing for a nolynch is generally considered a scumtell. Honestly I would like you as a push now more than I like the current train against Clon, except that I read it as a common new player misconception and am inclined to believe thats whats happening.

Clon, anything interesting to say? This train feels like a random shot in the dark but its also getting very late in the day, figuratively and literally.

Not sure if there is anything interesting too say...

I'm town, I posted "hmm...Thinking..." With the purpose of making sure people knew I wasn't completely oblivious of this thread as I had a very busy day and hadn't been able to post anything or really review everything and make a reasonable accusations. I didn't have anything interesting to say so I "thought"

Oh interesting.

On one hand, it's perfect scum cover in case someone thinks about investigating him.  Esp since there's no guarantee there is a PGO in the game anyway, he can claim it and hope no one counter claims.  Would be a bold play, but potentially one that leaves him exonerated and free to operate.

On the other hand, it's also possible he's telling the truth.  We may not have a cop, but if we do, that cop could at least verify clon's innocence.

Assuming Clon is telling the truth, would he be willing to forgo activating his ability for us to validate his claim? Of course, if he does, that might open him up to a mafia night kill.

Not sure what the best way to go given this info would be.  Lots of ifs here.
