So I could see the Moth clan being a family of shugs that specialize in ghosts. Or if playing an alternate Imperial History (like Togashi Dynasty), the Moth clan might be made up of returned spirits. Edit: Moth clan would also be a good name for a group of fatalistic or nihilistic bushi or a group of Samurai that reject Fortunism and believe ancestor worship is the only form of religion worth devoting to. I would point out that we already have the Ghost Specialist samurai in the form of the Falcon Clan, but I think the idea of a Minor Clan of returned spirits would be interesting, or a group of warriors who reject Fortunism and only follow ancestor worship could work. Or even the opposite, have a group of samurai who follow the teachings of Emma-O, devoting themselves to the worship of the Grim Judge of the Dead, and seek to bring to his justice any who they feel have "escaped" their kharmic death. 1 Hida Jitenno reacted to this

I mean, there's the little problem that such belief is outright rejecting an edict of the First Hantei, so they'd have to be really circumspect about it. Maybe in the way that the Lion keep a copy of the Tao in a place of honor in every dojo, but never read it. These nihilistic Moth could do the same, but with a text on the Fortunes. "Oh, of course the Fortunes have their proper place in our land, Otomo-sama. In fact, every temple of the Ancestors has a wing devoted to it..." which no Moth visits ever, he leaves unsaid. Edit: Regardless of the role of the clan, can we all agree that every Moth samurai has "Passion: Lanterns"? TheHobgoblyn 352 Posted October 16, 2018 So it sounds like we just combine the Moth, Falcon, Badger, Boar and Fox together as one nice faction and call them "Ryoshun's Ghost Clan"? 1 sndwurks reacted to this

A running joke has always been a meme. Memes are just transmittable ideas, not just the stuff the internet calls memes. 3 sndwurks, Hida Jitenno and KveldUlfr reacted to this

Adversity: Lamp! [Air] - You are inexorably drawn to the source of light in a room, whether that be a common candle, watchman's lantern, or a shugenja's flaming wings.
