Ok that’s a very helpful link for values. 

The rules are slightly different to the earlier link, where “Fill the table” results in an automatic stand rather than win.

I am frustrated by the delete thing - perhaps players need to be online at the same time to prevent cheating, this is not ideal, but I will keep working on this.

I've logged in as a non-admin person, and while I can delete my own typing, I don't seem to be able to delete the report from the die rolling bot.

Is this the experience of other people? If so, we have a solution.

The other question is - does it matter if the other player knows which 4 cards you have in your hand? Or does that rupture the nature of the game?

Ok, let's get a campaign started here.

As Arbitrary Potentate of all things Pazaak, I hereby declare:

 

Each new player will start with 200 credits, and a Pazaak deck with 2 of each of the following: +1, +2, +3, +4, +5.

New cards can be bought from this forum for the following prices:

No Player can have more than 10 Pazaak cards at a time - any unwanted card can be sold back to the forum for 1/2 of its original price, rounded down. You can always trade cards to other players at any price desired by both, and the results announced here in this thread.

We will play that "fill the table" is not an automatic win, but merely an automatic stand. To fill the table you need to play 9 cards (from the deck or your hand) and not total to 21 or more. "Fill the table" beats any other result of the other player.

Feel free to join up - if you aren't on discord, what-is-wrong-with-you, etc.

Use Discord to send a private message to your opponent listing your ten cards in any order desired - the other player should resolve not to look at this listing until after the round of the game. If desired, you can send your listing to LTD instead for a third party verification - but if that ever becomes necessary I'll be disappointed. 

Then roll 4d10 to choose the cards from your side deck to go into your hand.

To roll 4 d10, simply write on a new line

If you roll the same number more than once, reroll until you have 4 unique numbers - these unique numbers represent the card from your side deck that goes into your hand for the match.

Example: the message you sent to your opponent was: +1 +1 +2 +2 +3 +3 +4 +4 +5 +5
Then you rolled 4d10 to get 1, 6, 8, 3 - so the 1st, 6th, 8th, and 3rd cards from your list are your hand - in this case, +1, +3, +4, +3.

The match consists of multiple rounds - you can only play a card from your hand once per match.

 

After a match, just come back to this forum and post results, including any credits, etc. 

 

Once per 24 hours, you can play Pazaak against the "house" to earn (or lose!) credits.

Go into the Pazaak Palace, roll a d100, (!r 1d100) and consult the following table:

1-25 - lose 25 credits

26-50 - break even

51-75 - gain 25 credits

76-100 - gain 50 credits

And guys if not a rule already, the old school rule from the game if you get 9 cards on the table you win should be in play. I'd love to see someone roll 9 die and still be going! (- cards also count towards the 9 total in game)

Matt - you can always sell one of your +1 cards for 50 credits if you are that broke.

Ebon - the problem I see with the "fill the table" rule is that you would just buy 10 x -6 cards and play for it every time.

You only need to draw 5 cards from the shared deck (not 9), and play 4 cards from your hand (unless I have misunderstood this?).

The average value of the drawn card is 5.5. If I can play four -6 cards from my hand, it's quite likely (very likely) that I can have 9 cards on the table, not go over 20, and win every match. It's a broken game at that point. If, on the other hand, as we are playing it, 9 cards means automatic stand, then I can still go and buy my 10 x -6 cards, but I still lose if the other player is closer to 20.

 

I also invite folks to update their hands, cash, etc, via this thread. Things will quickly get lost in the discord thing.
 

Incidentally, I'm no longer able to access the LTD discord thing - only LTD2 - hopefully this can be resolved - I've submitted a request thing to discord - upshot: if you are sending messages to the LTD that has the crown next to it (the server creator) I'm not getting those messages.
