One Ship Fleets

So with second edition’s expensive crew members and force users and everything, it has become possible to fill an entire list with only 1 ship (without a ridiculous initiative bid anyway). This amuses me, so I threw together a couple builds:

#1: This technically has two ships with the docked phantom, but it is possible to play an entire game with only 1 ship on the board so I’m counting it: 

VCX-100 Light Freighter - Kanan Jarrus - 135
    •Kanan Jarrus - Spectre-1 (90)
        Dorsal Turret (4)
        Magva Yarro (7)
        Maul (13)
        Ghost (0)
        Ezra Bridger (18)

#2- This one has a very large initiative bid, but the bid is barely small enough that you can’t fit any other ships in the list:

Neither list is probably very competitive, but I’m still going to try #1 tonight at casual play just for kicks and giggles and see how it does.  

I tried building a fully loaded decimator but could only get Chiraneau up to about 160pts. I haven’t tried Scum yet. 

Anyone else want to take a stab at a 1-ship list? Bonus points if it’s actually reasonably competitive (I don’t think anyone is expecting it to be tier 1, but tier 2 or 3 would be respectable).

Best way to play a game, IMHO.

Also, I think "One Ship Fleets" makes for a fine oxymoron.

Start with the most expensive ship of the game, add the most expensive upgrade:

Super Duper Dash

(100) Dash Rendar
(30) Luke Skywalker
(14) Kanan Jarrus
(6) Expert Handling
(14) Outrider
(4) Rigged Cargo Chute
(6) Static Discharge Vanes
Points 174

Total points: 174

I did the Ghost/Phantom thing in 1E (this isn't new to 2E). It did not go well, but at least in part because I gave the new player I was facing my list ahead of time so he could practice building counter-lists (casual game).

I played with the builder trying to make something thematic. I finally make the sw-rebels team for 200 ( even if I a not great fan of the show)

I like the synergy Hera/chopper, I like to double tap with 2force token ( for a 1.5 ship squad I think it is essential)

It is probably not good, but probably super fun to play. To bad I don't own a VCX

Why would you take Vessery over literally any other defender pilot if there are no other ships to proc his ability?

The 4 force point Kanan is interesting, sadly he can't use his ability on himself, and he ostensibly has nothing else to protect.

In some ways thing a larger bid is actually better.  For example, Han with his engine upgrade and a large bid (30-40 points) is a fairly robust point fortress, because they can't get half points off the bid.  The larger the bid the less points you need to kill to win the game, assuming you are reduced to half points at some point in the game.  This might be the reason we won't see a I6 Defender pilot. Lightside forbid we ever see Vader in a Defender...

Really? Kanan can’t use his ability on himself? Isn’t a ship considered to be in its own firing arc?

Yep, you are right. Bugger. I hope they errata Kanan’s ability because it’s pretty useless when you can’t use it on 2/3rds if your list (for a fairly typical Ghost + docked Phantom list).
