1. What exactly is a "multi-ability list?"

2. You're not going to get a lot of mileage out of Evasive Maneuvers with no vehicles. I'm not a huge fan of Boba's 2-pip card either, but it will certainly go farther than Evasive Maneuvers in this case.

1. I call it that because I am not specifying in one particular style of play.

2. I can use it to steal initiative. That's what it's there for.

1. Sure it is, it's basically a Trooper swarm list, whihc is pretty good in my experience.

2. In what way does it let you "steal initiative" better than Boba's 2-pip card? Do you understand that this card literally gives you no orders and no special ability if you have no vehicles on the table?

Just replace Veers 2pip card with the generic 2pip card (push?).

You can replace any "named" card with the generic ones of the same pip.

He already has Push, so he needs something else and Boba's 2-pip is indisputably the best option until whatever the generic Imperial 2-pip in the personnel expansion is comes out.

Oops, assumed he had Bobas 2 pip, sorry.

Why would you not use Bobas 2 pip card? Seen a lot of people say it.not worth it, it can litteraly wipe a.squad on its own. Pair it with the E3 for pierce.

Sure, it COULD, if you roll all hits and they blank out on all defense dice. I don't know about being bad, per se, but unlike most 2-pip command cards it gives only a single order and adds a good weapon (not an attack) to Boba. Maybe I'm spoiled by my Rebel commanders, but I expect to get more out of my command cards.

If you look at my second reason, that is why I have the vehicle command card. I feel comfortable drawing out of the bag.

But both of these cards have exactly the same ability when it comes to initiative. Additionally, Boba's card actually gives you some use, rather than very literally nothing. With Veers' card all of your orders will come from the bag, and not a single unit gets a benefit from the card. With Boba's card one unit is removed from the bag and gets a very good weapon to use for that turn.

My other feedback would be:

1. Drop all of the extra stormtrooper upgrades and put DLTs on those 2 remaining units.

2. I'm a little skeptical of the efficacy of a single saboteur strike team. But you've made the right call with HQ Uplink there. You'll have to play it very carefully to keep it alive (and keep those mines in play). I think you can find the points to upgrade it to a full squad.

3. I think Targeting Scopes is not great on Boba (especially if you're not running his 2-pip card). He only rolls 2 dice at a time unless you combine weapons with Arsenal.

I might modify it like this. I don't think this changes the core of what you're trying to do, but just a suggestion:

Yeah, I keep getting the impression there's something he really doesn't understand.

Generally speaking I find the 2 pip imperial commands a bit lacklustre compared to the rebels. Might change depending on the Emperor’s 2 pip.

Evasive Maneuvers is excellent if you have at least 2 vehicles to give orders to.

I get what you're saying completely, I'm just comfortable with drawing out of the bag with this list. If you saw my other post on what I would do the first 2 rounds I think you'd understand better. I also don't have to use it if I don't want to.

I've also thought about dropping 2 Stormies for some Snowies and go with the 2-1 ratio.

There's a method to my madness, you're just not as mad or willing to take risks. I think if you understood my playstyle you'd get what I'm thinking.

You're right, you don't have to use it. However, this is the army building forum, so we're all trying to build the best lists.

It's not a issue with risks, and people are just trying to help. With this list, Evasive Manuevers gives you 2 pip initiative, and nothing else. Flame Projector gives you 2 pip initiative, an order on Boba, and a weapon that you don't have to use. It just gives you the option. Unless your playstyle is to confuse your opponent, there is no benefit to bring Evasive Manuevers over Flame Projector. If we're all missing some hidden benefit, I would love to be proven wrong and learn something.

Yeah I'm echoing Qwerty @AintNoPoser and it isn't an attack on you or anything. I just generally don't understand the logic.

1. Both cards give you two Pips - they are like-for-like in that regard.
2. One card gives you the ability to put an order token on one unit (Boba), one card gives you the ability to put an order token on nothing.

3. One card gives you the option to use a weapon (but using it is not required), one card gives you nothing.

That's the comparison. In point #1 they are both equal, in point 2 and 3 Boba's 2-pip wins. Being comfortable drawing from the bag is okay, but it isn't necessarily something you should strive to do from a competitive perspective.

There really is no good reason to not use Bobas from a "Competitive Listbuilding" perspective. I still don't grasp your logic, unless your logic is just to do the thing that makes the least sense to try and confuse your opposition or do something thematic for your list.

Lol this is funny. Obviously you take the Boba command card, evasive maneuvers literally does nothing. Bobas can do nothing as well if you choose but it gives you an option. Does this guy just never use command cards? Lmao, no offense but definitely not a competitive play style

There's not really a "competitive" list per say. It's based on the play style and how players use the table to their advantage. It is possible to win with every list.

But to answer your question, I do use command cards. I'm just deciding to use it in a way no one does which is to just steal initiative. I don't even have to use it too. Basically it's in there to fill the spot. I don't need all of Boba's cards just because I'm using him. I feel comfortable drawing in the bag because I'd probably use it late game based on my past games.

I'm going to stop trying to convince you, because your mind is made up and that's okay. You do you.

I AM trying to understand your logic though, for my own knowledge. Can you explain what you mean by "steal initiative" and also explain your logic behind why Veers' card accomplishes this for you and why Boba's card does not accomplish this for you?

So in my past game experiences, my opponents are usually using their higher pip cards during late game. Because I have that 2 pip, which is lower than theirs, I get to go first, therefore stealing the initiative.

I don't like Boba's just because it activates him. With the way I'm using him, I won't have to activate him late round and if he's low health I clearly don't want to get him up close and personal. I also feel comfortable with drawing from the bag late game. I also have an HQ Uplink I can use with my proton charges. It's just the way I'm using the card. I clearly know I don't have vehicles. There are more uses to cards than just what is printed on them.

Drawing from the bag also screws my opponent because they don't know who is going to activate when. They have to plan multiple options.
