(1e) Bring out your Jank! Store Champs Finale

Recommended Posts

I somehow managed to finish on top of one local Store Champs, but I'm already pre-paid and registered for another one... one of the last Store Championships ever (since they won't exist in the new 2e formats)!  For that reason, I want to go completely off the rails for these last competitive 1.0 games.  To that end... what are some of the most wacky, fun, jank-tastic builds you've been running, just to keep the locals on their toes?  I'm looking for things like loaded HWKs, TIE Punishers, etc.  Something they just won't see coming.

Unless they read this forum...

That would be bad...

Im really trying to make saw crew work. Tried him with Rey and while i like the combo 3-4 hits doesnt cut it on some lists since your taking a damage to deal the crits.  I flew against defenders and other 3 agi ships that i couldn't punch any damage through.

So im thinking about taking swarm leader and making it extra janky. Problem is is that Rey and other falcon pilots don't leave room for that much else.  Can use intensity zealots but not sure how great that would be.

Nuking someone with 6-7 dice with a bunch of crits sounds too awesome to pass up before 2.0

I'm thinking Saw (crew) wants to be on a ship like Wullffwarro... someone who rather likes running around with a bit of damage...

Rage (1)
"Chopper" (0)
Saw Gerrera (1)
Experimental Interface (3)

Alternately, if you wanted to try your Swarm Leader concept...

Loaded HWK-jank you say? Say no more!

Torkil Mux — HWK-290 19
Twin Laser Turret 6
Dengar 3
Ship Total: 28

Palob Godalhi — HWK-290 20
Predator 3

Kavil — Y-Wing 24
Predator 3
Twin Laser Turret 6
Bomb Loadout 0
Extra Munitions 2
Unhinged Astromech 1
Thermal Detonators 3
Ship Total: 39

Comes in at 99 points with 1-point of bid or some sort of crew/illicit on the HWKs. Its very rare this list hits for less than 6 damage per turn; it was made to hunt aces.

Ive considered wulf and rage does make sense here.  I just dont like only 3-4 dice when you are taking a damage on yourself which is why i was trying swarm leader.

2nd build i would worry about Wulfs durability and having no mods for attack.  Thats why i love it on Rey/finn. Modded attack and you can focus or evade for defense to mitigate some damage.

I dont know if i will be able to get a game in before our last sc this weekend.  If so ill try a build out and let you know how it goes

Gamma Squadron Veterans. Adrenaline Rush. Cluster Mines. Extra Munitions. Times 4. Go on, [any list], joust me. I dare you.

Double Quadjumpers, double TLT HWKs and Sunny Bounder is a hilariously agile list with okay punch.

8 TIE fighters is an old classic, and I intend to fly them in my last game.

5 U-Wings is spam like you've never seen, though it just bleeds MoV.

A Dead Man Switch Z-95 swarm is pretty hilarious too.

But as far as off-the-walls fun goes, a Jabba YV-666 and 4 Hotshot Blaster Z-95s is about as far as you can take it. 4 three-die turrets and a 180 with Zuckuss for aces is insane firepower, and really messes with the popular turrets.

Deathrain - accuracy corrector, extra munitions, cluster mines, lightweight frame - 37 points.

Scarif Base Pilot - Krennic, ISB, Title, Lightweight frame - 31 points.

Rho squad veteran - Crack shot, XG-1 title, Long range scanners, HCL, linked battery - 32 points.

So, the idea is to put the Krennic condition on the Punisher.  Deathrain rolls up, attacks, spends a die to remove a shield, than accuracy corrector for 2 hits.  He's brutal against aces because of the shield removal thing.  Plus the next turn he closes in and drops cluster mines onto said ace for more damage.

I have the Rho as my third ship because it's consistent and tough to block damage.  Between linked battery, LRS, he has some resistance to jam tokens.  The 2 times I've played this, my opponent ignored it and focused on the other 2.  That allowed it to flank and do crazy amounts of damage.

Crimson fires first, sets up a lock, and since harpoon doesnt require spending the lock, they can fire at will. Should kill something.
