viktr 47 Posted August 9, 2018 (edited) I don't know how to resolve these two scenarios: 1) Mission: Tarkin Initiative Labs, Weapons mission Greedo A attacks Greedo B. Greedo A has a weapon. According to the FAQs, we resolve each Slow on the draw once, resulting in : A attacks B, B attacks A, and A attacks B. Which Greedo A attack adds the weapon to the attack pool? Is it the second one because it actually is the first attack declared? 2) How do interact Greedo's Parting shot with the new command card Second Chance? I know MHD's card doesn't save him since it says "Then, you are defeated" and he dies anyway but in this new card the trigger is different ("Before you are defeated" instead of "When you have suffered damage equal to your Health"), so I'm not so sure. Thanks! Edited August 9, 2018 by viktr

You add the die when you first declare the attack, then all the slow on the draw stuff happens (including those attacks, with the regular dice pools), and then you actually perform the initial attack with the extra weapon die. This one confused me for a long while even when people tried to explain it to me, but second chance won't work on Greedo (unless you want to skip his parting shot). The order would go like this: -Someone attacks Greedo, Greedo suffers damage equal to his health. -Parting Shot triggers, which has two parts. First he does the attack. After that, "you are defeated" -Second Chance does still trigger before Greedo is defeated and he recovers 2 damage. He's now at 5/7 total damage. -Greedo dies anyway, because of the "you are defeated" line in Parting Shot. Second Chance may have recovered some damage, but it didn't do anything to cancel out the "you are defeated" printed on Greedo's ability. So unfortunately you only use one ability or the other when Greedo would be defeated, not both. Uninvited Guest 834 Posted August 9, 2018 (edited) To expand on #2: Being defeated, does not necessarily mean a figure has suffered damage equal to its health. Probe Droids’ Self Destruct ability is an example of a figure being defeated regardless of damage received. In other words, the statement “you are defeated” in an ability has no relation to damage/health. Edited August 9, 2018 by Uninvited Guest
Tvboy 3,529 Posted August 15, 2018 Parting Shot was errata'd to include the "then you are defeated" line specifically to prevent people from using the Parting Shot attack to recover damage and keep the figure alive indefinitely in campaign with something like Imperial Industry on a Hired Gun group.
