Anti-pursuit lasers

Recommended Posts

For both Anti-Pursuit Lasers and Ion Projector, it's not an attack, so it can't be modified as an attack (via target lock, focus, etc), or defended against.

It's also important to note, the player who rolls for Anti-Pursuit Lasers is the one who has the upgrade card, NOT the ship that bumped.  That means you could use Palpatine to give yourself a hit result for these cards (and thus affecting the ship that bumped you), but if you're the one doing the bumping, it's your opponent rolling the die against you, not you rolling to evade it.

(the same principle works for bombs or obstacles - you roll for the things you're hit by, not necessarily for the ones you put on the table - so Palpatine could call for a blank result versus a mine or an asteroid, to help mitigate the damage you take, but you can't Palpatine an enemy's roll to ensure they take damage)

SO MUCH THIS. People often do not pay attention to who rolls dice on card effects. Some people do not care, but if you got ways to modify, it can make a huge difference.
