Herr Style 152 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) After finally getting my hands on a TIE F/O, I looked forward to playing omega leader. Then it dawned on me that all my opponents ships will be PS 9 or above, so was wondering if this would be a better laugh! Upsilon Shuttle Expert Handling Electronic Baffle Ion Projector Kylo Ren's Shuttle Tie SF QuickDraw Veteran Instincts FCS Lightweight Frame Spec Ops Training Tie FO Epsilon Ace Shield Upgrade Comms Relay All comes to 99 points I think. A PS 12, PS 11 and Kylo Ren. Well, a PS 12 for the first two hits lol. I thought Comms Relay to keep the spare evade on for a while so I could focus him up? Any thoughts, or would I be better with OL instead? Edited June 29, 2018 by Herr Style Stupid Android keeps defaulting Comms Relay to Common! 1 Magnus Grendel reacted to this
Aiwarikiar 27 Posted June 29, 2018 I would change to this OL. With OL's ability it doesn't matter much that your opponents are PS9 or above. And then use to two remaining points on either Sensor Cluster, Advanced Optics or Pattern Analyzer on QD. Magnus Grendel 10,575 Posted June 29, 2018 If you want a high PS squad, it looks good. If you really want to show off to the "Look, I'm PS10" crowd, you want a Silencer as well: Kylo Ren First Order Vanguard Veteran Instincts Advanced Sensors Advanced Optics Autothrusters "Quickdraw" Spec Ops Training Veteran Instincts Fire Control System Advanced Optics Lightweight Frame Epsilon Ace Advanced Optics 2 x PS11 and 1 x PS12..... Your squad is nice. Observations? 7 hours ago, Herr Style said: Epsilon Ace Shield Upgrade Comms Relay Epsilon Ace is awesome but not awesome enough to justify 7 points of upgrades - nearly half his points value again. He's great but when all's said and done he's just a TIE fighter. High pilot skill, yes, better dial, yes, shields, yes, but still a single 2-dice attack. A comm relay alone - or even better advanced optics if you have a copy - is more than enough. Saves you 4 points for ships which actually matter. 5 hours ago, Herr Style said: Upsilon Shuttle Expert Handling Electronic Baffle Ion Projector Kylo Ren's Shuttle With Ion Projector, Electronic Baffle and Expert Handling you've got a fearsome blocker if you're prepared to burn some self-damage. As a blocker, you could really benefit from an Intelligence Agent as crew. Knowing where your opponent will be makes you infinitely more capable. Also, rather than electronic baffle, consider Pattern Analyser/Inspiring Recruit. That way you can do a red move and barrel roll, and one green next turn removes both stress - and if you don't need it, Quickdraw or Epsilon Ace can benefit from it instead if they end up double-stressed. That costs you a couple more points, but leaves the systems slot free - meaning a fire control is a possibility, which is very nice with the Upsilon's 4-dice 'big stick' primary guns. 7 hours ago, Herr Style said: QuickDraw Veteran Instincts FCS Lightweight Frame Spec Ops Training Advanced Optics is good, if you have it, or Pattern Analyser (letting you get actions on a red move and opening up the TIE/sf's surprisingly poor dial). Tech upgrade aside, it's a good build. 7 hours ago, Herr Style said: After finally getting my hands on a TIE F/O, I looked forward to playing omega leader. For target lock-dependent missile craft, higher PS pilots are an issue because you need to park yourself within range 3 to acquire a lock but for your opponent to not be at range 1 after they move, so you actually get a shot off. Omega Leader is happy at any range, and still has an evade token (if com relay/juke) so can afford to fly in and lock someone moving afterwards. The big problem is Poe Dameron with Black One, who's essentially impossible to maintain a lock on. But that's a specific ship. 2 hours ago, Aiwarikiar said: "Omega Leader" — TIE/fo Fighter 21 A Score to Settle 0 Advanced Optics 2 Ship Total: 23 Indeed. That's a very nice budget version of Omega Leader - very much an 'assassin' designed to take out 'that one target' but that's no bad thing; omega leader will beat most non-Black One opponents in a fair fight for a nice low cost. 1 Greebwahn reacted to this
Herr Style 152 Posted June 29, 2018 Unfortunately I don't have a Silencer yet. I also don't have some of the cards suggested, but I'm Happy to proxy. I will look into the options later and repost my thoughts. 1 Greebwahn reacted to this
Herr Style 152 Posted June 29, 2018 I think I am going to drop Epsilon Ace. I think for what I will be going up against (Karvil with probably TLT), I would need EA to go as I had so that he would stay as PS 12 for more than a round. If I took the extra shield off, or Comm Relay then that would reduce his PS 12 life expectancy. So in goes the standard OL for 26 points! I added a pattern Analyser to QD, as I remember the dial does stink a bit. Then I took a look at the Upsilon shuttle. I did think of the Star Killer base pilot but there's no EPT, so no expert handling. In the end, I chose Kylo Ren and reduced OL down to a suggested build. So First Order Mk II! Upsilon Shuttle (Kylo Ren) (34) Expert Handling (2) Ion Projector (2) Inspiring Recruit (1) Pattern Analyser (2) Quick Draw (29) VI (1) FCS (2) LWF (2) Spec Ops Training (0) Pattern Analyser (2) Omega Leader (21) A Score to Settle (0) Adv Optics (2) Total 100 If this can he tweaked a bit better then let me know. I will be proxying some cards as I don't own them all. 1 Greebwahn reacted to this
