Albertese 159 Posted June 27, 2018 Any guesses about what characters will make the cut as commanders on future expansions? There are a bunch of potentials for the Rebel side, but I find myself scratching my head about the Imperials. Thrawn maybe? General Tagge? Maybe that officer who arrested Luke in Return of the Jedi? Name that guy and give him command cards. What are your ideas for future commanders? Either side.

player2801864 38 Posted June 27, 2018 The ol' Star Wars CCG has oodles of potential imperials. We'll probably see the named above and Wullf Yularen, Krennic, Davin Felth, Admiral Piett, and maybe some others from Rebels.

I thought about Piett but I'm not sure I like the idea of an admiral commanding ground forces. Similar thought for Yularen.... Wasn't he a Grand Admiral or something navy-related? Krennic, though, for sure. Gotta have his Death Troopers too! Orkimedes 592 Posted June 28, 2018 I could see the next mirrored releases being Krennic + death troopers and Chewbacca (as operative) + wookies. That would give each side 3 commanders and 1 operative, and the first legit heavy infantry type choices. 2 1 Lumberjack Nick, Caimheul1313 and Vineheart01 reacted to this
Caimheul1313 2,990 Posted June 28, 2018 From Rebels I could see Hera as a commander, potentially also Rex. The rest of the Rebels crew probably fits into the Operative role a bit better, with the possible exclusion of the Jedi, but we'll see if FFG ever releases them. Honestly, I'd like SOME kind of non-human Commander for either force (besides my own conversions). Would love to see Jyn Erso, Captain Cassian Andor, and the rest of the Rogue One cast at some point as well, either as Operatives or Commanders as befits the character. Personally I'd love to see Hondo in the game, just because I greatly enjoy his character in both Clone Wars and Rebels, but he's probably better suited for a "Scum" faction which FFG may or may not do (but I digress, and do NOT want to start that discussion here). For Imperials, I think Grand Admiral Thrawn and Governor Pryce would be decent includes, partially to have non-human/female commanders for the Empire. I've seen a few conversions of Veers to Thrawn, and I'm sure something similar could be done for Pryce. I agree with Krennic and Death troopers being a likely pairing at some point. Derrault 1,091 Posted June 28, 2018 Rebels: Chewbacca, Ben, Lando; Every other character is tertiary compared to them. Empire: Moar operatives (Bossk, Dengar, IG-88)
redki 33 Posted June 28, 2018 Palpatine, Thrawn and Krennic are the obvious choices for Empire. Lando, Antilles Brothers, Hera and Jyn Erso for rebel scum.
Dragon_King 159 Posted June 28, 2018 uuuuh Krennic would be sweeeeeeet ❤️ Maybe Saw on Rebelside. Jyn, Cassian?
Crawfskeezen 370 Posted June 28, 2018 I'd wager at some point (maybe not right away) we'll see Agent Kallus, but for what side? . Gotta use that new Disney canon right? At that rate some other characters from Rebels as well. The one I want for sure is Salacious B. Wasn't he a Grand Admiral or something navy-related? Piett makes sense with Navy Troopers or an Imperial equivalent to Fleet Troopers. Yularen was head of ISB, so spys! That would be a fun mechanic. And who knows, maybe FFG will bring to light a character we've never seen or even never heard of before, that we will all fall in love with. Or hate. From a certain point of view. On the flip side, Rebels have a list of great options: Dondonna, Reiken, Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Obi-Wan, Crix Madine, and even Ackbar makes some sense. I kind of hope they release a pack of two commanders, as the commanders really change the way you play this game even if all the other units on your list are the same. 2 Caimheul1313 and Albertese reacted to this
Stasy 2,502 Posted June 28, 2018 I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to see more lightsaber equipped units, commanders or otherwise. Definitely can see the Inquisitor and the Brothers/Sisters as units. Kanan is a no brainer as is Ezra. Commanders could definitely be Krennic and Saw. I'd also suspect the other Hoth based Rebels are an option like Rieekan or Madine.

KILODEN 914 Posted June 29, 2018 inquisitors? Hera operatives: Fulcrum, old clone trooper Chief Chirpa TK-
Caimheul1313 2,990 Posted June 29, 2018 I could see the Grand Inquisitor as a Commander, with the Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister as Operatives. Or all the Inquisitors as just Operatives. Colonel Dyer or Major Hewex are also possibilities for the empire.

Chewy makes no logical sense as a commander but this game (so far atleast) has no "special unit leader" mechanic either where the Unit leader is more important than simply the model that does all the moving/spotting for the unit. He would have to be an operative and im not really sure who else rebels could get in that slot either off hand (civil war only anyway). Lando could be argued both both slots tbh. Krennic + Deathtroopers is such an obvious choice im surprised they didnt immediately do that one before Veers.

True, also i keep forgetting technically Rebels is civil war era. Even though it technically is before it, its only just before it so it counts. 1 Caimheul1313 reacted to this

The actual all-out fighting doesn’t start until Scarif, but resistance forces that were formed during the Clone Wars are fighting back against the Empire throughout the “dark times” (Cham Syndulla’s Free Ryloth movement, Saw Gerrera’s partisans, Enfys Nest’s gang, Mon Cala, etc.). There’s a much greater sense of continuity (in my mind at least), and we get to see how the Rebel alliance does not appear out of thin air but is really built up over decades. I love it so much, and it has led to some really great storytelling (in my book). 1 Caimheul1313 reacted to this

I love the game and I’m happy with slow release of products to ensure quality control and balance. It would be nice if they were more engaging, show a heavy weapon, demonstrate some tactics or builds, have an in depth expaination and demonstration of some of the more advanced rules people may not be using, or even terrain building tutorials would be cool. Vineheart01 6,403 Posted June 29, 2018 i think theyre dividing the resources for RWM and Legion, cause i noticed now that Legion is released suddenly RWM is getting a ton of articles. Bit late though, my entire local group for that one abandoned it months ago after not even a peep about any of the boxes they announced, but didnt talk about. MONTHS ago. Uthuk players didnt even get the standalone boxes for their units yet 2 TauntaunScout and Contrapulator reacted to this
