XR8rGREAT 236 Posted June 16, 2018 Since ive started playing Armada no events in my area have been run. I love playing at events I've played in quite a few Flames of war and Bolt Action events as I love the fact you get a heap of games in over a weekend/day. In these events the T.O's play as well and in those game systems its accepted and no one minds. My Question is in Armada is it ok or acceptable to play in an event you run. As there is not much point in running it if i cant play in it.
BrobaFett 4,209 Posted June 16, 2018 I've been to events where the organizer has played.
Snipafist 7,541 Posted June 17, 2018 There are different "tiers" of events in Armada, but more local events are at the "casual" level (this includes store championships!), and at the casual level the TO/judge can also play and that's accepted. Events like Regionals and above don't allow that, but for the most part that's not something most players need to worry about as most players don't attend Regional-level events or higher. Cool good to hear. The only Regional event here in NZ was 8 hours drive north for me and so far the only event i know of this year that has been run. There seems to be legion events popping up here and there. And a lot of X-wing events but nothing for Armada I know the players are out there as you always hear of friendly games being played and organized in the Facebook group here. svelok 6,487 Posted June 17, 2018 Yep - just keep in mind you're supposed to publicly appoint a secondary judge, in case there's a dispute or a ruling needed in your own game. 3 XR8rGREAT, Darth Sanguis and Snipafist reacted to this

In my experience, I, as TO, usually ended up playing my backup judge second round........ comatose 552 Posted June 18, 2018 Agreed on all points. The other thing I do as TO if I play is that I put the TO prize copies into the prize pool either at that tournament or the next one. I figure that I need to "earn" them either by winning or by sitting out to act only as TO. 1 XR8rGREAT reacted to this
