Alpha17 2,421 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) Nothing too special with these. Simple paint job of the Core set figures. Only real unique idea is that I put Luke in a flight suit rather than uniform because it makes more sense to me for Rogue Leader to be a shot down pilot than a battlefield commander. I think Luke looks a bit shinier than I want, so I might hit him with a bit of anti shine. ABXY 1,018 Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Ah, playing the old Capture the Brick scenario - a classic, to be sure. I really like to colours you chose for the lightsabers. Edited May 16, 2018 by ABXY 1 1 Tubb and Alpha17 reacted to this

rasmussen81 78 Posted May 16, 2018 Looks great! Did you modify Luke at all or just paint him with the orange jumpsuit?

Figure that after being after being shot down, dropping the flight harness and life support kit would be simple, so no reason to add them.
Alpha17 2,421 Posted May 28, 2018 General Veers has arrived with reinforcements! Finished painting my first expansion sets, General Veers and another squad of Stormtroopers. Next, on to the Range Rulers and movement tools. I'm really pleased with how Veers turned out. The pictures don't do it justice, and its by far my best-painted mini to date. I'm sure others have painted better, but I'm pleased with the results. 8 LStyer, bllaw, Savate and 5 others reacted to this

rasmussen81 78 Posted May 28, 2018 I like the colors of the movement tools! How would one prevent the pooling effect of the wash? im thinking I’ll do something similar but don’t want the dark pools if I can avoid them.

You could probably just pat it down with something like a napkin or paper towel, or continue to paint the wash on with a wide brush. I didn't mind the pools, because they make the tools look worn and blaster scared. 1 rasmussen81 reacted to this
Sarigar 0 Posted May 29, 2018 Nice work. To avoid pooling, you can use Q-Tips or even you finger to wipe away the excess.
Alpha17 2,421 Posted December 13, 2018 (edited) With the Fall semester and graduation behind me, I can start playing again. Maybe. Anywho, here are some updated photos of my army. New additions are an AT-ST, a Scout Trooper Scout/Sniper team, and a Space Maxim, I mean, E-Web Mudtrooper gun team. Basic idea was that the Imperial Army was pushing through this bombed out village, with a scout team in the lead, and combined arms unit following. manoftomorrow010 723 Posted December 14, 2018 Love your Scouts. I was planning on painting them with a similar, if not more green, look to make them more appropriate for snipers than the usual white haha 1 Alpha17 reacted to this

White works for Stormies and for guys on noisy speeder bikes, but I just don't see how Scouts/snipers would really work wearing shiny white armor. These guys were originally based coated in light green/loam, but the earth tone wash I used makes 'em look more tan. 1 manoftomorrow010 reacted to this

Alpha17 2,421 Posted December 30, 2018 Tried my hand at kit-bashing, using a Stormtrooper from two different expansions. After a bit of Exacto knifing, I was able to get them on, and it only cost me the two HH-12 troopers. 5 1 qwertyuiop, LStyer, C3POFETT and 3 others reacted to this

Some of the terrain is homemade, but the bombed-out houses are actually from a Bolt Action Ruined Hamlet kit. The scale is a tad bit off of Legion (28mm to 32mm) but they're close enough to look decent. Edited January 4 by Alpha17

Alpha17 2,421 Posted January 5 Finally got ballsy enough to try my hand at painting up some Shocktroopers. Here's the result: This is a full squad, since I used the HH-12 trooper for the E-Web.
