You can't lend a friend a digital download. (...which I guess is the point...) In unrelated news, I found a copy of WipeOut 2097 and a PS1 I forgot I had tucked away at the back of a cupboard over Christmas. Still works perfectly. Good times. Kind of related, the other day I purchased The Legend of Zelda (original) for the 3DS because I had some expiring credit with the Humble Store and I realized I never played the game from start to finish. Anyways, there is a bunch of information (including a mostly complete map!) in the physical documentation that is not available in-game, or in the sad excuse of a manual that they package with the software. I miss collecting game boxes, maps, manuals, etc. Edit: On the other hand, as an amateur indie game dev, I totally get digital distribution. Its a life saver. That's because they designed the game with the intention of people having to find it themselves, while talking to each other and sharing the secrets as they uncover them. Today's games offer WAY too much hand-holding. I doubt kids who grow up on today's games could ever complete a classic Sierra adventure game without a guide book (****, I grew up with Sierra, and there's still some games I could never finish). Preach. Can't wait for them to add the Resistance Y-Wing and First Order TIE Bomber. You know it's coming. It has to.

The longer they leave it to rot, the less popular it becomes. 1 Whalers on the moon reacted to this
