Defining start / during / end of activation

Recommended Posts

Is this a reasonable interpretation of the rules for the definitions of start / during / end of activation to decide when certain cards / abilities can be used?  I’m asking because of anticipation of disagreements over use of Fenn’s Tactical Movement card and Lone Wolf ability, and Jyn’s Quick Draw.

Start of activation - the period between declaring a figure active and declaring the first action.  After the first action is declared the ‘start of activation’ period has ended.

During an activation - the period between declaring a figure active and exhausting the figure’s deployment card / activation token.

End of an activation - the period between completing the last action and exhausting the figure’s deployment card / activation token.  Once the deployment card / activation token is exhausted, the activation has ended.

Thoughts?

1. Start of activation - the singular moment you choose a figure to activate.

All abilities that trigger due to starting this specific (figure) activation are resolved in the timing conflict resolution order.

2. End of activation - the singular moment when you choose to end a figure's activation.

All abilities that trigger due to ending this specific activation are resolved in the timing conflict resolution order.

3. During an activation - any time between start and end of activation when you are not resolving an action or ability.

During-your-activation as per the RRG, and including the clarification from the FAQ that during-your-activation abilities cannot interrupt other abilities.

Abilities triggering at the (start or) end of activation are considered to be within that activation for the purposes of checking "limit once per activation" limits (and validity of being during an activation).
