While RAClo is a hard counter to Ghost/Fenn, it loses big time to both Final Form and Miranda/Low/Ezra. You're more or less gambling that every meta match up you get will be Ghost/Fenn based.

In the top 32, I could see 3-4 Asajj with various wingmates, 2-3 all-in alpha strike lists (3Nu + QD), 2-3 reliable alpha strikes (2Deadeye Rhos + QD), maybe 1-2 Dash + Miranda/Poes and a wildcard big swarm like 8 Z-95s or 5 Strikers. Plus all the boring meta lists, of course.

Top 16 has 1-2 Asajj+Co, no all-in alpha strikes, 1 rreliable alpha strike, 2 Dashes (of salt?), and no swarm.

Top 8 goes to maybe one Asajj, maybe one Dash and the rest meta lists.

Top 4 is composed entirely of Ghost/Fenn, Final Form and Mirada/Low/Ezra.

Top 2 is either a mirror Miranda/Low/Ezra or Final form Vs Miranda/Low/Ezra.

The ultimate winner is Miranda/Low/Ezra, unless lucky crits are drawn from a Final Form alpha.

Jesus christ. Take a deep breath. Go outside.

OK OK, there might be a Brobots squad in the top as well......

But only due to the guy playing them is so insanely talented, and handsome.

Well frankly speaking the Ghost lists have been more or less under control lately. I don't really see te issue

Well, it's still all Rebels all the time in the top three, but yeah, seems the Ghost is slipping a bit per meta-wing:

Btw, what the **** is "final form"? This ain't Dragonball

We really need better people in charge of the nicknaming department to them even somewhat intuitive and indicative of what's being played

NymMiranda where Nym is rolling Trajectory Simulator + some combination of Proton/Thermals.  The "Original" Final Form was a very dark period of a few weeks where you could genius + TS a proton bomb after moving.  This is a slightly less frightening form of it.

So it's NymRanda 2.0b

Final form my ***. could be anything from bbbbz to any quickdraw list to mirilowrau to freiza

And I thought timewalk asajj (LW asajj) was bad but at least you know the ******* pilot. Even fairship rebels at least gave you the faction

What beats Final Form?

A large # of things can beat Miranda/Nym.

Of the top 3 choices available it is by far the least effective in my opinion.

You just need to be able to destroy Nym in 2 rounds, ideally 1.

He has no re-enforce or Fenn Rau to hide behind.

Focus fire with 2-3 fully modified shots brings Nym down pretty quickly in most cases.

Oh...and ISTDs basically lets you skip the game.

Yeah, RAC/Draw is a VERY strong match against Nym/Randa, but has major difficulties against other areas of the meta.

Right the most consistent answer to the field, as in previous "biggs turret metas" since last year is usually 3 different directions:

  1. Take one of the Rebel Biggs Lists ( Ghost/Fenn, Miranda/Low/Fenn etc. )
  2. Take any Point Fortress that can play to time after destroying about 50 pts
  3. Take something PS10+ that can pump out damage quickly

Palp Aces being the primary exception.

Ghost/Fenn beats it if the Ghost Fenn player doesnt give away Fenn

RACLO/QD is a tough matchup, can still go either way

A well flown adv sensors Kylo makes a tough matchup as wel

Control Bots are difficult (well basically all tractor/ion stuff)

Triple Wookiees. Stress control and the tankiness to deal with the alpha.

ION, people. Ion will ruin Nymanda in every one of its forms. It's also very useful against the other current meta lists. Ion and stress is even better, but difficult to achieve without making a list around the synergy. Ion, stress and tractoring them onto a rock is the dream.

An Unkar quadjumper with cloaking and primed thrusters and an EMP device can, coincidentally, do all 3 of these things for 22 points. Repeatedly. Unblockably. It's very, very fun to have C-3P0 Miranda at AGI 0, ionised, going over the same rock next turn and still stressed.

And of course, alpha strikes than can first survive NyManda's alpha strike are excellent. 3 Nu + QD is terrifying. If you can guarantee killing her in a turn, Miranda should always be the priority target. The difficulty of Final Form mainly lies in Miranda's ability to point-fortress, not Nym's bombs.

The list was incredibly prevalent when it was named. The idea was that this was NyManda's "Final Form" - something that simply couldn't be improved on. The Genius and TS combo was absurdly strong, and both ships were strong point fortresses, alpha strikers, turrets, bombers aces and arc-dodgers.

Funly enough, the Canadian Nationals for the Game of Thrones Cardgame featured something like 50% of it's top cut as the same degenerate combo deck. In response FFG literally nerfed combo via a restricted list the week after the event.

So if degenerate Rebel combo lists dominate Worlds this year, it'll probably result in some action against some of the offending cards at least.
