The QD + 2 Seinar PS4 Silencers

Man, I hope so.  I'm super curious about what direction they'll take the Silencer.  They have little more room to move with the faction split.  Part of me thinks it cant be made too good, though, or you'll have the equivalent of Vader in a Defender.

I still kind of want Vader in a Defender though. It’s thematic. Who doesn’t want to troll X-Winv with Maarek and Vader in Defenders. ?

As for the Silencer in 2.0 it’s hard to imagine what they might do. The current Kylo build sure feels like something they don’t want in the game. FCS works completely differently and it’s hard to know if Advanced Optics will remain the same.

I expect they will want the ship to be somewhere between the Defender and Interceptor - so the E-Wing basically.

Same 3-3-4-2 statline with built in optics for the ship upgrade. Then at least 2 non focus linked actions.

Looking forward to it though. Whatever they do.

The First Order is going to be interesting.   The /sf and silencer are statistically similar and even have similar upgrade slots.   I think they’ll tweak one or the other to seperate out their base ship stats a bit more, but I could see the /Sf maybe getting a gunner.   Otherwise the First Order will really have two very similar ships, with the silencer being far superior because of the dial and boost.

Sf and silencer aren’t that similar even now. They’re both very good. But fly totally differently.

Its the generic ties and fo ties that need more interest.

The /sf isn’t all that good outside of  pilot abilities in 1.0 despite the same statline and having close to the same upgrades as the generic silencer, which was what I was getting at (dial and boost are a big deal).    They’re in the same point range and one is vastly superior to the other, so it will be interesting to see if they can make both good choices with those similarities because right now they aren’t.

The first Order also does not have access to generic ties.  So their list would be:

Kyle Shuttle, Tie Silencer, Tie sf, Tie/fo

One thing that could separate the two would be force sensitive generics on the Silencers. A 'Knights of Ren' pilot with I3 or I4 and a force point.

As for the /sf, I agree, it needs a gunner. I have a bad feeling it will stay at 2 agility and LWF won't be around. It always felt like a fix card anyway.

If priced right, I'm not too concerned about AGI 2.  LWF is good, but never felt required to me.

Okay - I have a bone to pick with you folks.

I just tried this list on Vassal and fell in love with it. It is pure joy and a great way to practice arcs for 2.0.  The real problem  - Do I buy a second pricey silencer for just a couple of months of tabletop play? What if I don't use the second one in 2.0?

Grrrr......decisions.

I asked him that question. He told me they should be up today.

Videos are up now.  Your Top 8 vs. the Rebel alpha was insane.  I thought for sure on that first exchange you were done.  But Wedge whiffing and going splat and the double tap on Arien and Nym in one turn completely shifted it.  Great game to watch.

Then you had the same list matchup in your top 4 game.  You turned away from the joust and ultimately turned back in for a joust a few turns later.  If you had that game to do over again, what would you have done differently?  The rocks were really scattered apart so there wasn't much you could pull them through.  Would you have done the same thing again and hoped the dice were more favorable our would you have bailed out the silencers further and tried to flank more?  Also - with all of those harpoons would you have fanned them out more and avoided the splash damage?  That was a killer for you.  :(

QD is a bit of challenge in those alpha lists.  She just can't bail and regroup like the silencers can.

Lol,  Yeah, that’s a tough choice and one may even be part of the 2nd wave as a better scale model.   Even if it isn’t it won’t be playable during Wave 1 since it won’t be Wave 2 when the FO conversion kit hits.   I hope that’s not too long but who knows.

I love the list but I’d probably just replace one of them with inquisitor for now unless you can find one for a good deal.

Who would have ever thought that the generic silencer would be the strong one.

What are the poor matchups for this?

What should the opening engagement look like?

Stat line per point cost has always been awesome, I've run Kylo mayyybe once or twice, blackout once, and the rest has been AdvS/Optics/Autos Analysts.  They're phenomenal for the points, especially against turrets.

I think it depends on how many store championships you intend to play in. This list can definitely win one.

I get that $30 is a lot for a ship but, as these 9 pages suggest, this list feels like it's worth more than the sum of it's parts.

tl:dr There are worse things to spend $30 on.

I think, if I had to do it again, I would have tried to gone straight at them instead of turning away as I did at the start. I don't know if it's possible but the plan would've been to jump from outside of range 3 to range 1 in one turn, denying my opponent his missile/torpedo shots on the initial joust.

I watched your match vs Nathan.  Lowhhrick refused to die and stuck around much longer than he should have statistically speaking.  Then watched your other matches against the Rebel Alphas.  What other lists did you face over the weekend and what ones do you find this archetype struggles against the most?

Here's my contribution to this thread (just won a 26-peep tourney today)

http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=4391

Here's the loot I won (includes the custom made scarif mat underneath; the purple x-wing token is a 2-sided one to indicate the state for S-Foils) - missing a Silencer since I had to borrow one from a fellow player

It's a good point about store championships, but at this point, and the more I think about it,  I'd probably try to borrow one (like MuOn did) since one of the things that bugs me about the list is that the silencers can be annoying on the game table since they stick out so far... But yeah, worse things to spend money on for sure:)

I used 3 and 4 pegs for mine, it worked out great.

Yeah, maybe I'm clumsy but they still stick out for me and I end up clipping them even when it isn't a bumping situation.

Been flying something similar:  I saw someone suggest Advanced Sensors in another thread on Silencers, so I went with these.  Then, I swapped QD for a Yorr shuttle with Anti-Pursuit Lasers (those last two points could be anything).  Again, I know QD is probably generally the best, but I feel like I'd just rather experiment with something new rather than a familiar QD.  I haven't always been able to suck up stress on Yorr, but when you do, it's kind of amazing.

These Silencers are so much fun.  AdvS has always been great with red moves, and with three good ones here and All. That. Green. on the dials, it's really easy to K-Turn and T-Roll a lot.  It's a bit less action economy than FCS, but it's more flexible.  I love it so much I almost want to go out and buy a 3rd Silencer, but then I figure "The FO Conversion Kit will probably only include two conversions, and I don't know if I'll be able to get a trade arranged for a 3rd ship."  Anyhow, even on a single action, with practice these dang things can get anywhere.  Advanced Sensors just opens up so many options.

They've said the FO and Resistance kits will convert more copies of each ship than the wave 1 conversion kits since the sequel era factions have significantly less ships to convert, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it support 3 silencers.  On the other hand, we're also getting a new silencer sculpt, so might be worth waiting for that.

The thing is: I already have two of the old sculpt, and I'd rather have all three models match.  Imagining that a new one is 10-15% smaller, I think it'd look weird on the table to have two different kinds.  I'll probably try to hold out for a 1E closeout sale, but I kinda want to fly the ship now.

I too dont have a second silencer. I subbed in Vessery.

I ran this tonight and it is pretty ****ing good. Faced off against PS11 Han/Poe. By the time Han was gone, vessery was down his shields, and the silencer only lost a shield. Vessery kturns adds a bit more mix to the list, and quickdraw can easily tag any ship Vessery needs to shoot, like a boosting black one Poe.

Sienar-Jaemus Analyst (26)
Fire-Control System (2)
Advanced Optics (2)
Autothrusters (2)

Colonel Vessery (35)

TIE/x7 (-2)

"Quickdraw" (29)

Advanced Optics (2)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Special Ops Training (0)

Total: 100

I've got 2 weeks left in a 6 week Aces league that I'm playing in and then I can finally get back to QD and the Sienars, just in time for Store Championship season. :)

While the league has been fun I am itching to get back to this list l. I do however get to have a taste of it with my list for tomorrows league games.

Week 5 (100/100)
===============
TIE Defender: Colonel Vessery (35 + 3)
    + Expertise (4)
    + TIE/x7 (-2)
+ Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/SF Fighter: Omega Specialist (25 + 6)
    + Adaptability (0)
    + Fire Control System (2)
    + Advanced Optics (2)
    + Special Ops Training (0)
    + Lightweight Frame (2)
TIE/SF Fighter: Omega Specialist (25 + 6)
    + Adaptability (0)
    + Fire Control System (2)
    + Advanced Optics (2)
    + Special Ops Training (0)
    + Lightweight Frame (2)

The action economy is virtually exactly the same, but the strong defense is with the ace instead of the generics.

It'll make for a fun league night but still, I'm ready to get back to QD and the Sienars. I've had my eye on Store Championship season ever since I picked up the list, and I feel like that's where it'll really get a chance to shine.

How are Store Championships shaping up for everyone else?
