More of the weight sits over the planted foot than you’d think. Could always glue a washer underneath as well just to make sure.

I’d really have to try to knock it over for it to fall. 1 Patteous reacted to this

I have washers under all my bases.. 5/16” fit perfectly in small unit bases, M5x15 fit perfect in the speeder bikes Forgot what size I got for the latge bases. They were slightly smaller than the spot as I think it was 1.1 inch diameter and I have 1” ones glued in the center
Attackmack 526 Posted March 31, 2018 Im gonna need something to weight my atst down, it wont fall over by itself but it doesnt need much tilt to fall forward and with such a tall model i can see it accidentally bumped easily
Animewarsdude 3,639 Posted March 31, 2018 Wow, some people have some cool looking poses with their AT-STs having them mid step. Here is mine painted up, and alongside the IA AT-ST.
Attackmack 526 Posted March 31, 2018 Got a good shot showing just how much my ATST is leaning forward. I happy with its pose as I think it looks like its in full sprint (or as much of a sprint an ATST can do) but the forward lean did make the model somewhat unstable. Its very tall and with center of gravity high up and far forward, leading to a model very easily tipped even on this wide base. So I ended up gluing as many washers I could fit on the underside of the base as well as a bunch on top of the rear part of the base (covered with greenstuff to ease basing the model later). Made a huge different to the stability of the model, you can stil tip it over of course but it requires a good bit more to do so! 2 General Weiss and Sorastro reacted to this

Attackmack 526 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Paintjob nearly done so the model is now glued together. Had to cut and grind a little to get the pose right but it worked out! Yodhrin 353 Posted April 7, 2018 I would really, really appreciate it if someone who's posed their in a fairly neutral and upright "relaxed" stance could take a measurement in mm of the height?
