I started with an opaque black base applied by airbrush, then roughly sprayed the red panels which bled over quite a bit since I didn’t tape anything. I then went back over the model with a light coat of transparent black. 

All the brighter red panels I went in with a brush to do, followed by a few days of dotting bits of platemail anywhere there’s a bolt or hinge or finer machinery (I’ve already found spots I missed).

I finished the model with a dry brushing technic I learned on my Armada ships, with a little platemail on a dry brush, just lightly and quickly brush the model. It creates an aged, chipped paint look.

The battle damage is real. I carved it up with a hobby knife before painting.

Thanks for the tips, and i was wondering how you did the battle damage so well in the photos, and that explains it. I would love to see some more painted miniatures in the future from you, amazing job, keep it up!!!

Finally done with my Core Imperials, 1 extra squad of stormtroopers, and Veers.  Just in time to get my snowtroopers tomorrow!

Snowtroopers complete. I tried to get fancy with the flame trooper, I’m pretty bad at sculpting as it turns out. Tried to make fire but it looks like burnt coals.

It’s somewhere in the thread earlier, airbrush white primer, airbrush pearlized black from createx, from there it was brush work. Army painter pure red, and plate mail, and finished off with Agrax earthshade gloss

I'm thinking about getting a Tie Fighter to have a crashed ship as well. I really like this idea! 

If you don't mind, what did you use for the base? I see some green under there and wondered what it was. Also, have you finished it and tested it on the battle field yet? How did it work in action?

Sorry for the late reply, the base is a flexible foam sheet from hobby lobby, then I just use large amounts of hot glue to embed the parts. I finish with a coat of sand and then paint it, but you could also just paint and flock the hot glue. Finally, just cut around the glue on the sheet and you have a solid terrain piece for a reasonable price and time investment.

Ive enjoyed the pieces on the battlefield, they add nice aesthetics. A few of the wing parts have proven to offer some interesting cover and fire lane options which weren’t entirely intended, which is cool.

Krennic and his Death Squad ready for action.

I gave Krennic a terminator face since so far everyone with a face has been metallic cyborgs.

The death troopers were some of the easiest models I've ever painted.
