Evad04 41 Posted March 28, 2018 Anyone do know of a way to protect the various tokens? Maybe coating them in clear fingernail polish or spraying them in a clear varnish?
Nihm 209 Posted March 28, 2018 Paint the edges. It's the weakest part of the cardboard. 1 Big Easy reacted to this
Amanal 2,557 Posted March 28, 2018 I purchased some 35mm coin protectors. 1 Big Easy reacted to this
Big Easy 429 Posted March 28, 2018 If not already, there should be acrylic ones available soon on Etsy. 2 Patteous and Wiredin reacted to this

Mr Tough Guy 397 Posted March 28, 2018 Looks like Curled Paw does some acrylics already https://www.etsy.com/shop/CurledPawCreatives?ref=seller-platform-mcnav§ion_id=23510444 2 Wiredin and Darth Lupine reacted to this

Dosiere 478 Posted March 28, 2018 I’ve had good success using a sharpie on the edges and then using my matte varnish on tokens. A satin might actually be better, as it would protect them more. Regardless, far from the near indistructability of acrylics but it’s far better than doing nothing.

Attackmack 527 Posted March 28, 2018 Ill be getting some 35mm coin capsules for the order tokens, and use red D12 dice instead of wound tokens. Then ill see what is available later on for the rest of the tokens.
Dash Two 309 Posted March 29, 2018 For the expert at this ... would a thinned mix of water/PVA work?

Mep 2,292 Posted March 29, 2018 Spray on lacquer works great. Can paint the edges of the tokens with acrylic.

This is true, which is why im also thinking of getting a good dice tray tbh, i much rather the accidental bump of a wound die then ruining the entire battlefield with ugly tokens. Its enough with orders aim dodge and standby, the woundtokens are just unnessecary imo.
eng621 0 Posted March 29, 2018 I was just planning on putting the wound tokens on the cards. Like x wing
Darth Lupine 1,556 Posted March 29, 2018 I'm definitely putting would tokens, vehicle damaged etc. on the cards.

Yeah I would do this as well but at the same time I want important information to be visible for both players at a glance which is why I usually mark damage and wounds on the tabletop. But I might end up marking it on the cards as well, anything to keep the table as clean as possible without confusing anything or anyone

That being said if you are really concerned i am sure a bunch of 3rd party acrylic tokens will be available. When i get around to it i know i will cut a bunch with my laser. On the side of the board. It also helps keep the play area cleaner.

Patteous 112 Posted March 30, 2018 Would satin polyeurothane work for preserving the cardboard? I’ve got a can of that on hand.

Try it on some of the leftover cardboard that's left after you've punched out all the tokens. It's going in the bin anyway; make good use of it. 1 Patteous reacted to this
