Deadshane 720 Posted March 6, 2018 Really good. Pick it up whether or not a fan. If you use Thrawn....must read. 1 CaribbeanNinja reacted to this

Drasnighta 26,831 Posted March 6, 2018 That is all. Read it, or alternatively, get the unabridged audiobook and listen to it. easily the best Star Wars book I own, and has the advantage of being canon, too... 1 Lendosan reacted to this
Tiberius the Killer 465 Posted March 6, 2018 Just started listening to it. I really enjoyed the old thrawn trilogy, and I'm hoping this one stacks up. 1 Lendosan reacted to this
ianediger 1,345 Posted March 6, 2018 Also, while I can't remember where I heard this, so take it with a grain of salt, but Timothy Zahn is trying to write his current Thrawn trilogy so that it doesn't necessarily negate anything from the old Thrawn trilogy. While the old TT is no longer canon, at least Zahn is attempting to create a cohesive story between his two trilogies. 2 impspy and GrandAdmiralCrunch reacted to this
CaribbeanNinja 6,207 Posted March 6, 2018 Yeah this is my current novel. So far so good. I never thought I'd enjoy this after the original one, but it has been great so far (I'm about 1/3 of the way in.)
Darth Sanguis 6,324 Posted March 6, 2018 I think I may be the only person who isn't enjoying it like they thought they would. I feel like Zahn really rushed to complete this book. There's a lack of atmosphere (no pun intended) through most of the story. While I'm glad to see Thrawn back in canon, and I don't necessarily hate it, this book doesn't shine like some of his others involving this character. :/
shmitty 3,315 Posted March 6, 2018 I had been hoping that Thrawn was going to try and recruit the Ghost crew the way he tries to recruit the Rebel leader in the novel. 1 impspy reacted to this

They weren't that ingenious, sadly.
jmswood 2,706 Posted March 6, 2018 I enjoyed the book. The first issue of the comic adaptation is even better. Hopefully that holds true through the remaining issues.
RogueCorona 1,043 Posted March 12, 2018 I'm glad it contradicts the part in rebels which makes it sound like this Thrawn is as bloodthirsty as a typical Imp commander. Though I find it odd that pretty much every capship that appears in the book is identified by class, both imperial and resistance or pirate, except for the frigates which are never given a class. 1 impspy reacted to this
CaribbeanNinja 6,207 Posted March 12, 2018 Just finished this last night. I thought it was great. I wish I could spoil stuff, but it added a new set of wrinkles that I'm really excited about.
Admiral Litje 98 Posted March 12, 2018 I would recommend James Luceno's Tarkin after reading Thrawn. It's also canon and presents a lot of new content that may be relevant to Armada
