Impact Grenades and stacking keywords.

Recommended Posts

So perhaps the reason we cannot find a general rule for it, is that it is keyword specific.

Page 30 in the RRG looks pretty definitive:

"If a unit performs an attack using multiple weapons that have the impact x keyword and those weapons contribute dice to the same attack pool, the x values of each impact x keyword are cumulative."

I have 5 weapons that add 5 black dice to my attack pool.

If the argument is that the unit only has 1 Impact Grenade Weapon, then I would go back to page 44 under Upgrade Cards:

"Some upgrade cards feature the hard point (?) or grenade (?) icons; these are weapon upgrades. These upgrades do not add any minis to a unit; instead, every mini in that unit may use that weapon when attacking the enemy."

EDIT: Ahhhhh - okay, I think I see where you guys are coming from. "Every mini in that unit may use that weapon when attacking."

It's still only 1 weapon, so you only add the Impact 1 once instead of for each time the dice are added. This is different than Speeder Bikes because each mini is using a separate weapon with Impact 1.

Consider me learned and awaiting an FAQ :)

If it does turn out to be a case of using grenades only adds Impact 1 to the attack regardless of the number of units attacking with Grenades, Fleet Troopers are going to be interesting grenade carriers. Although, Concussion grenades already will be an interesting combination with their primary weapon.

Hey all,

I asked FFG via the question form and got an answer:

You’re very welcome, Craig! As to your question, yes, if all six troopers in a unit attack with impact grenades, those grenades add up to impact 6.

Wow....okay then....

Well, that being said, how likely is it to get your troopers into range 1 of an enemy vehicle?  One other thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned, if you have a unit with a heavy weapon and grenades that gives the unit 3 different weapons, so they could target 3 different enemy units with each one.

Wait...no one thought to do this before?? And thank you for doing it.

No offense meant , but we’re going to need more than your word.

I will happily concede the argument once there is proof out there, but I could write the same thing.

Screenshot or something, rather than a copy paste?

The other relevant rule to solving this:

Some upgrade cards feature the hard point (?) or grenade (?) icons; these are weapon upgrades. These upgrades do not add any minis to a unit; instead, every mini in that unit may use that weapon when attacking the enemy

I mean, unless he felt gutsy enough to fabricate a statement from a designer and then post it on a public forum, I don't think it's that illegitimate.

You could ask yourself.

I don’t remember which side anyone is on, even myself sometimes lol

If your willing to back it up, I believe it more, especially if you were on the other side. I’ve asked as well, see if I get the same response.

Didn’t realize they had that option.

I think how fragile troopers are in general, and its going to be tough to really get it done. It would have to be pretty tatical end of one round with double move and start of another round with movement and attack and some luck you dont get wiped out afterwards,

Ive played quite a bit on TTS getting into Range 1 is not easy. Troopers lose an a action with suppression, for every trooper that goes down you lose a die and an impact. Most of the time you do get into range you will not be able to aim making the attack unmodified, meaning its not that crazy of an attack.
