Impact Grenades

Really the only way to prevent those squad attacks would be to kill them first or engaged in close quarters.

It looks to me like range 1 is roughly 6 inches, so units of infantry loosely deployed around an AT-ST could prevent your opponent from getting close enough without being forced to charge your infantry, as range is measured from the Squad leader to the closest model in the unit. Snowtroopers with their flamethrower might be ideal for this purpose, as if the opponent gets close enough to grenade the AT-ST, then they are more than likely in flamethrower range.

Honestly, we'll see how it shakes out once the game is released, some of this depends on rules interactions and the actual scenarios we will see in gameplay.

Possibly. The rules literally say this:

From browsing the other pages it seems 'weapon' means all weapons with the same name which would support your interpretation. Logically it doesn't make sense though since if you would roll the dice individually each one should have the impact 1 effect.

Exactly combining two weapons. You aren't combining 5 weapons with impact your only using one weapon with impact that applies to the whole squad

Except you don't roll dice one at a time. You roll your entire pool

Sarcasm aside, yea I do think squads should have the advantage at closer ranges over vehicles and that's represented by the fixed move template and the free form movement. But I could jam 4 squads and Vader around the AT-ST but that still doesn't stop those 2 squads from having 10 Impact and destroying 195 points. The whole concept of vehicle/squad support isn't really incorporated into Legion like it is in Armada where Escort forces you to attack it.

Really the only way to prevent those squad attacks would be to kill them first or engaged in close quarters.

Agreed, as well you could suppress them so all they can do is look at Vader as he walks up to them from behind the AT-ST and .........................

I think you are wrong and it would be black for every figure using granades and only impact 1. It'd add its impact to any other figure using a weapon with impact, for example DLT 19. So, for a 6 figures unit with DLT and grenades firing at range 1 it would be, 5 blacks,  2 reds and impact 2.

I was right!

I want to see an official answer.  I do NOT want to show up to tournaments and have a significant % of people disagreeing about impact/pierce/etc stacking.

Appreciate that most are being civil.  We shall overcome.

Space Vikings FTW.  Death to Empire and Rebel!!  :D
