From 1978,  Mimban predates Hoth, Bespon, the Moon of Endor, and according to old school rumor, may have been the inspiration for Dagobah.

I’m excited for its inclusion back into Canon.

From the above article -

The double-sided train is known as ‘the Conveyex.’

The Aurebesh writing below them spells out ‘Hitch Joint.’

So who is this guy? Some kind of obscure EU character?

Dunno why they're calling this film SOLO, guess this guy's just alone through it all. Wonder when he sells The Falcon to Han Solo?

Dude, that's Starbuck.  Ya know, from the Mon Cal cruiser Battlestar Galactica!!

Boy does he not look the part. It's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make for a good performance, though. Better someone that can act as Han Solo, but doesn't look like him, than the other way around.

Not that this movie has an appealing idea behind it, but still, I'm willing to give it a chance.

Yea seriously. I feel like the only stuff the OP ever posts is non game related.

Well, that’s from a certain point of view and which games you refer to.

While my game posts mostly goes to Imperial Assault now, in the 90’s I was involved with the development of ships ranging from the Interdictor to Gunboat to the Punishing One, even the history of the B-Wing.

I helped in the creation concepts of the ISB and the formation of  The Inquisitorious, the fleshing out of the Trandoshan race, giving Grand Moff Tarkin a first name and history and coordinating with a certain Mr. Zhan and Mr. Stackpole before the release of thier novels.

These of course later on translated into ships for all our enjoyment later on.

While Fantasy Flight has added so much to Canon, they still draw on material we worked on.

So in a way, all the posts I have made MAY evolve into game material one day.

From a certain point of view.

You were in the very beginning of the legend? Please, wise man, tells us about the creation of the Gunboat.

You know word on the street is apparently the guy they chose can't act at all and Disney had to get him STAT acting lessons for the film right?

The rumor (and its a rumor...sort of like all the **** that surrounded Rogue One) is not specific. An acting coach was brought in, supposedly, but it could be literally for any number of things. Voice, trying to nail certain mannerisms, etc.

We've seen the actor do well in other films. I'm looking forward to this iteration of Han.

To be fair back then it was not called Legends.

And little known fact,  the Gunboat  (1991) evolved from the Skipray (1989) and are now two distinctly separate ships.

The Gunboat first made an appearance in Star Wars: X-Wing game, midway through the main game's second tour of duty.  Developed in order to give the Imperial Navy a fighter with deflector shields. However, two ships had previously appeared in the cutscene after the first tour of duty, assisting AT-AT Walkers attacking a Rebel base on Orion IV.

Possibly because of its equivalence to typical Rebel Alliance fighters, the Gunboat has received little to no mention outside of the X-wing computer game series for a very long time.  While exceptional Imperial fighters such as the TIE/D Defender have shown up increasingly in later Expanded Universe novels, the Gunboat are rarely depicted in such works.

I started a new thread because Entertaiment Weekly has week long articles for Solo, and wanted a clean slate.   There is a ship article coming but I have an NDA till it’s release.

How do I move a thread off topic?

Ummm...without commenting on the contents of that NDA (obviously) - any hint at least when the article will be posted?  Not even a specific date, just - before or after 'Legion' launches (March 22)?

I did not do the edit but there are four more articles this week, mostly actor and corresponding character bios.

The other EW articles more pertinent to X - Wing (ships) will be early March, I think.  When we proofread we just make sure the article makes sense and won’t be called out by some fan somewhere.  Release dates for such articles are spaced out a few weeks apart.  Both to keep interest going leading up to the movie and to oil the ‘buy this issue’ machine.

Vanity Fair has a large layout as well in April/May.
