Rebels Semi-Thematic...

I've been working on an epic list that at least seems thematic for Rebels, and has some reasonable survivability on the table.  Here's what I have so far... your thoughts?

  • CR-90 Corvette (Fore)
    • Maul (crazy rerolls)
    • IG-RM Thug Droids (makes attacks better)
    • Single Turbolasers (long range pain)
    • Quad Laser Cannons (close range insurance)
    • Supercharged Power Cells (more pain)
    • Dodanna's Pride (coordination)
    • Optimized Generators (more energy)
  • CR-90 Corvette (Aft)
    • Operations Specialist (free focus tokens)
    • Engineering Team (more energy)
    • Single Turbolasers (long range pain)
    • Supercharged Power Cells (even more pain)
  • Lothal Rebel (VCX-100)
    • Sensor Jammer (minor damage mitigation)
    • Twin Laser Turret (consistent pain)
    • Hera Syndulla (stress ain't no thang)
    • Ezra Bridger (stress is my friend)
    • Ghost (more consistent pain)
  • Zeb Orrelios (Attack Shuttle)
    • Phantom (kind of a given)
    • Chopper (he's free)
  • Green Squadron Pilot (A-Wing)
    • A-Wing Test Pilot (I'm skilled)
    • Snap Shot (I shoot you more)
    • Crack Shot (I hurt you more)
    • Chardaan Refit (who needs ordnance)
    • Autothrusters (I'm dodgy)

Hmm.  I guess my squad builder doesn't recognize that limitation across fore/aft sections.  Duly noted, and 3 points freed up!  Since I was previously at 299, perhaps some Tibanna Gas Supplies (for 4) will help me keep the broadside going for multiple rounds.

Bank on 2 or 3 good turns of shooting. That decides an epic game. Not saying don't do it just saying overspending on sustained fire can leave the burst lacking. There are some mean 13 ship builds in epic that if you don't kill enough outright will volume of fire a cr90 or lethal rebel right off the board before their second shot.

Love it!  Your CR90 is a little fat for my taste, however I am a huge fan of Ghost in epic.  Arguably better than a GR75 with combat fit for ramming power.

Ended up throwing this at a fellow casual player, who ran a similar CR-90, with four Bomb-loaded TLT Y-Wings, and a stacked Miranda.  Sadly, being primarily a Scum player, he was unfamiliar with both rebels and the Tantive.  He tried to joust with the corvette, which worked fine for me, less overall damage.  I was able to get several good broadsides against his Y-Wings before they closed to bombing range, and my Ghost was flying like a madman (WAAAAAAY too close to his epic ship - only avoiding a crash-destruction on a lucky maneuver choice (for me) by my opponent).  We ended at time, with only his aft section remaining;  I had lost only my two A-Wings (which I didn't fly very well) and half of my fore section (after LIBERAL use of the Recover action).  My opponent had a beautiful Miranda harpoon shot lined up on my capital ship, and somehow COMPLETELY forgot to use it.

I chalk this one up to lucky rolls and opponent confusion. :D

Well the OP was going thematic for the rebels TV show. Han Solo hasn't made an appearance there yet.. And with only a half a dozen episode to go and no room storywise in them for filler episodes, I doubt he'll show up.

Might not be the most minmaxed fleet, but it looks like fun. Though the y wings feel slightly out of place given the 'season two' feel of the rest (attack shuttle is still around after all) but they definitely play a role. 

Another thematic ship would be a generic YT2400, though darned if I know what upgrades to give it to emulate the iron squadron. Maybe Sabine, so it can do a bombing run..

 

With the release of the sheathipede, are you going to retool to use it as the Phantom II instead of the Attack Shuttle Phantom? The extra coordinate action ought to really benefit this kind of list.
