Kanan/Fenn for Regionals

This is pretty similar to what was used to win the Atlanta Regional last week. I was planning to fly the Ghost already, but seeing how the winner did with his list on Saturday, I made some adjustments based on what worked for him. The big difference is having R2 Astromech on Fenn instead of FAA. What do you think? I like having more access to greens since I'll be picking up stress, but I also realize that FAA will help Fenn keep up with Kanan after a boost.

Also, I could drop Rey on Kanan to upgrade Collision Detector to Accuracy Corrector. AC+TLT will chew up anything with 1 agility.

Good point. I could drop pulse ray and Rey to keep a strong initiative vs other PS 11's.

I guess with Fenn having initiative and not having it comes with separate advantages and disadvantages. Probably not worth it. Rey will be nice for when I bump or pull a red maneuver to still have at least one focus to trigger Kanan.

Without PRS, is FFA the best choice over R2 to help Fenn keep up with Kanan?

Having initiative with Fenn will be wonderful when you face off against PS11 Poe, and can eat that focus his Advanced Optics have been holding onto for the first few rounds.  FAA is great, because you really want Fenn to have arc on somebody, or at the very least, be able to run away when you have to.

Also, don't forget freebie units you can use to throw off your opponent.  If you have space, Courier Droid can let you drop Kanan first and dictate the terms of the first engagement, or place after other mid-round deployers.  And Chopper (crew) is unlikely to be used, but if you DO need him, he can sometimes save the game for you with a timely action.

Have you flown this list?  And how often have you used the engine upgrade?  I'm wondering if you could drop that for something else.  Like accuracy corrector or FCS.  Kanan does alot of fun things to slow down dice.  And Fenn could always co-ordinate an evade token to the ghost. 

Definitely like the switch to FAA.

I flew something close with Ashoka instead of Fenn. I don’t think I want to lose EU because it helps the Ghost jump in and out of range. Plus, like a game tonight, I can land on an asteroid and have Fenn coordinate a boost off it. And a few times I was able to coordinate that evade like you said when I didn’t need to boost. Also 100% going with Accuracy Corrector. Too much fun against 1 agility ships.

In my games tonight I enjoyed having FAA. It helped Fenn keep up with the Ghost and line up shots.

Engine is huge in this list. An ace thinks he made it into your blindspot and fenn says "dont think so, buddy" and boost ghost for a range 1 primary, after fenn HSCP their focus of course :P

I’m confused. Landing on an asteroid means no actions? How do you get an action from Fenn? Or is it only stress that shuts that down?

When you land on an asteroid you cannot perform an action during the "perform action" step, but it doesn't prevent you from a free action via coordinate. 

It won't work on debris because the stress will prevent an action, even free ones.

As long as his front guides are clear of an asteroid (boost template not overlapping rock), fenn can boost him off a rock.

Thanks for all the feedback/insights on this. 

Now that I know what I'm running, what weaknesses are there here?

I'll be limited if Fenn is taken out too early, so I'll have to keep him productive yet also protected.

My biggest fear is getting caught up in bombs where I'm taking on a couple of additional hits per round. If I can't wipe a bomblet carrier off the board quickly, it's not going to go well.

Anything else to be particularly worried about? If so, how should I approach it?
