Hmm...does he look that much younger than Han did in the Original?

Well...he is younger then Ford is now lol

I think there won' be too much time between thus movie and New Hope so he doesn' have to be a teenager so to speak.

Theres a ton a "troll" comments in the youtube vid. No surprising..

I think based off of what we can see in the teaser and trailer it'll be good. I'm trying not to be too hyped but its impossible lol. Hype!

This.

End of the day, it's more Star Wars. Some people won't like it because it isn't the OT, some people won't like it because it ignores old EU, and some people won't like it because it's not "their" Han Solo/Chewbacca/Lando. Seeing as I figured I was born too late to see the OT in theatres, I figured the prequels were the only Star Wars movies I was going to ever see in theaters (besides maybe at some point a special event showing) so new Star Wars in theaters? Please.

I'm looking forward to this pic. Lots of throwback fashion & design from the 1970's. The ISD going through the lightning storm is instantly iconic. Lots of aliens and droids (Thank you Ron Howard & co.).

It certainly has a distinct look to it. My only issue is this Han's voice. I can't help but expect to hear Harrison. Once I've lived with it for a while, I'm sure I won't even notice the change.

So after watching the teaser and trailer a few times with lots of pausing and rewinding, it looks like the new TIE fighter has a sort of gunnery pod, the villain with the spiky necklace seems to be some sort of criminal or tribal leader, he has shields on his arms that look like fans and block blastershots...  Lots of interesting stuff!

There's two types of very vocal fans (hopefully a minority) right now:

1) The Gatekeeper: this fan thinks that they have final say what should or should not be released on film by Disney. So if it's not XYZ, everything should be burned to the ground. So if it's not a Maul/Yoda/Obi-wan movie then "no one" wants to see a Rogue One/Solo movie. If Luke isn't blazing against the entire First Order with a lightsaber for two houea, the movie is hot garbage.

2) The Closet Racist/Misogynist: this fan wants every Star Wars movie to look like them, generally white and male. Any signs of ethnic or gender diversity is usually followed by the term "Social Justice Warrior" and some quasi-political outrage. Characters of different ethnicity are worse than Jar-Jar (or any other hated character).

No amount of facts, logic or explanation will change these fans' minds. Their opinion is right and they will voice it over and over when every clickbait website wants to incite anger to get people to pay attention to them.

Unfortunately I agree with you.  I do believe it is an annoying and vocal minority that actually are sandpeople but instead of hiding their numbers by walking single file, they use fake twitter and Facebook accounts.

This solo movie is going to be good but they will try to destroy the rotten tomatoes score and what not.  They are an embarrassment to real Star Wars fans.

It leaves little room for 3) The Star Wars fan that just loves star wars, in all its forms, to greater or lesser degrees, and is just elated that we are now getting good quality, regular content to feed our desire for more tales from a galaxy far far away

I’m sad to agree that these two groups seem to drown out the rest.

I’ve been lurking the Legion boards for a while now and I’m both excited for the game and the fact that the community ISN’T like those two groups.

Just saw it on tv!  What did you guys think?  Loved the isd coming through the clouds!!!

I didn't like it at all really. It looks rather like every other sci-fi action film that has proliferated in the last ten years, and if the title hadn't said it, I might have wondered to myself "which one is meant to be Solo?" (hyperbole on my part, sure, but the actor's impression of Ford is near non-existant). To a certain extent, trailers are engineered in a way that has created a rather uninspired sameishness to how they portray films, but I was actually quite surprised that I found this one to be so mediocre.

Of course, this all goes nearly without saying that this is just my opinion, and I genuinely hope that people enjoy the film and that it does well.

I wouldn't have seen it at all in any case, as I'm completely bored of the never-ending supply of franchise films and resolved some time ago to never see another one (even if they looked very good).

Oh well, your loss.

And I don't think it is supposed to be the actors impression of Ford, but rather the actors impression of Solo..... Roger Moore wasn't trying to connery it up as Bond, and Craig was very different to Brosnan.

These movies will continue to be made, despite the aging of the original cast. they are going to need the Bond treatment.

(The Crown is doing similar things within the same series, getting new actors in to play older version of the Family for the next season).

I see these chronicle films as almost direct comparisons to an RPG adventure.

Solo is Edge of the Empire

Rogue One was Age of Rebellion

Obi-Wan will be Force and Destiny

Ugghh . . . you don't say? I did not expect a film about the character of Han Solo to actually be about Harrison Ford. I thought it would be pretty self-evident that by saying his impression of Ford was poor that I actually meant his impression of Ford's performance as Solo was poor. I apologise for any misunderstanding.

As for my loss? No, not at all. There are many films, books, poems, plays, conversations, walks in the park, writing, work etc. etc. that personally appeal more to me to spend my time on.

Good for you.  You seen very wise and cultured.  Now why do you waste  that time responding to a post on Star wars miniature forum?

I make no claim to either of those things.

Wasting time? Because I had it to waste, I guess. But I don't actually think responding to a forum poster's question about whether I liked something or not to be a waste of time, at least not on a forum for which I am occasionally active, for a game which interests me.

Responded to a question I missed the first time.
