What to do about brand new Bent/Warped Cards

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Pretty new to Destiny but I've started buying booster boxes when I can find good deals. For the new set Legacies I pre-ordered my booster box and excitedly awaited it's arrival. Tonight was the night that I was able to first crack it open and start opening packs. And.... of the first 3 packs I opened 2 packs were pretty severally bent/warped. The box itself doesn't so any damage but the packs seemed to be crammed in so tight that many of the unopened packs I inspected also appear to be bent. My question is, who do I take this issue to? The retailer I bought it from or FFG? Or am I just stuck with $100 worth of bend and warped cards? And suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Because of the dice in the package (and the fact that they do not place the die in the cardboard die holder) cards being warped are pretty common.  Place the card in a sleeve and then insert into the middle of a heavy book overnight.

Thanks for the suggestions and help everyone!

I would also complain to the retailer.  After re-reading the question it appears they did not take care in packing.  And if they don't care then I would not use them anymore.

Sorry, to be a bit clearer I don't think this had anything to do with the retailer. When I said they were crammed in tight I was referring to the individual booster packs and how they were packaged in the booster box itself. I believe this issue was cause by how it was packaged at the factory as there was no visible damage to the exterior of the booster box.

I noticed that they don't place the dice in the cardboard die holder. Any idea why that is? I'm assuming the assembly and packaging of these is already a challenge and this is just a step that FFG decided wasn't necessary?

I have only bought 12 boosters, but none of them had the die in the holder.   there is a thread somewhere on here about it but I don't think it answers why they are not put in the cardboard insert. But the insert usually protects the cards.

Any answer to that question you find here would be purely speculation.  My guess is money is saved by skipping that step in packaging.

Is there even a "die holder" any more of have they done away with it because it was never used. Opened my first Legacies box today and not one of the cardboard card protectors had the cross cutout for a die.

Have only bought Awakenings and Empire at War so far.  Once they decided not to use them, it probably took time for the stock with cutouts to  to run out.

I haven't had any cards so severely warped that some quality time in a full deck box hasn't straightened them out.

If you do get some that are unsalvageable, or creased, I would contact the support contact dhowtocor mentioned. FFG will replace cards, but not dice (in the case of dice misprints or damage, they'll "replace" with a new pack, instead).

As far as the dice holder cut-out in the cardboard sleeve, the only boxes I've ever seen pack the dice using them correctly was the very wave of Awakenings' original print run.
