Even if my group (namely my wife, lil bro, and best friend) are not huge into the actual game, the miniatures are going to be awesome! I used to have a bunch of WOTC Star Wars miniatures I used for the various roleplaying games in the galaxy (WEG, Saga, and the FFG releases), but my storage unit got broken into and a LOT of my stuff got stolen. The only thing I managed to keep was a small box of named characters (Luke, Boba Fett, etc.; basically stuff I didn't want to use for RPGs) and my big ol' ATAT. Having miniatures to paint and build is super exciting and can't wait for the game to be released. THAT SAID, while I am going to buy numerous Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Snowtroopers, and Scouttroopers (and maybe even decal squads or make my own 501), I am really curious as to what commanders are coming out. Luke, Leia, Vader, and Veers are announced. Awesome, but what other commanders are coming out? I would love to see Han and Boba. This is a ground army based game and I can't think of a bunch of military leaders that were boots on the ground for Star Wars. I guess we might see Tarkin or Thrawn, and as much as I'd love to have a Peter Cushing miniature, that'd be a bit weird for me. I'm not nixing it or naysaying the game; more in wonder at what they'll do. Either way, I'm sure we all have thoughts on what commanders we'd love to see! I know they're focusing on the original trilogy for this year, but I'd love to hear what other people are hoping for! Especially those that were deep into the books and comics. Boba I don't see as a commander, more likely a Special Forces miniature, same as I envision Chewbacca. Really looking forward to customizing the Rebel vehicles. I really hope they go into scum and villainy. I love everything for Rebs and Imps released so far, but I definitely want to see some mercenaries. I find having the Big Names everywhere breaks the suspension of disbelief for me. I'd also add Prince Xizor as my number one Scum pick. I second this! That would be really awesome. I don't know how they would act as commanders, they aren't that "commanding". But since there are two commander slots, maybe not every character has to. On the other side I could see them also as a Special unit duo. I know the gang was disbanded at the time but how? I find it hilarious they censor He11 even though they have a game about in the form of DOOM. I'll be sad if the end isn't good, but there were still a lot of things I liked so far. Mr. Bones is awesome. I really liked the way Han and Chewbacca were done.
