A couple Avatars and Lts for the Advanced Campaign (Kronos, Baron of Hell, Malwrath, Pain Elemental)

Just cause I got all Photoshop Happy and created a couple Avatars and Lts for the Advanced Campaign, I'm going to post them here for some Peer Review.

Presenting Kronos and his primary lieutenant, the Baron of Hell:

There's a few typos I've fixed on my copy, this is to just give you a taste of what's coming up. Also, I darkened the Avatar card a bit (notice how much redder Malwrath is?). I also need to think of some cards to use in the Pain Elemental encounter...

You are making me laugh and blush at the same time. Thanks, I'm just having fun with Photoshop atm. I have no idea if any of these values are correct yet, have to do some playtesting :)

Also, I have a LOT of work ahead of me, gotta create these guys' specific levels for the endgame (in Doom, the last levels of the game are specific to the Avatar's Hell Gate Location, any surviving Lts, and the Avatar himself).

Shnar, The cyberdemon is cool, but why only the green marine? I would it make it so that the invader can choose the color he has a personal vendetta with ... after the players have chosen the marines hehe! Otherwise i can see the arguments now... who is going to choose the green marine, nobody wants to be the main target of attacks. At least not in my playgroup :)

Heh, I think that's the main point, that one of the marines is "marked". I guess it's irrelevant which one it is, but the Avatar is picked after the Marines, and except for the starting Marine card, the marines are identical, so I think it's all right to make it simple and say "the green one is it". :)

The inspiration of this avatar came from me reading up on Doom lore. So, the point of his special ability is that he's got it out for the "Green" marine, which is the apparent descendant of Blazkowics, and whenever he's Fragged, the Harbinger excels in his ability to crush the humans.

Wow.  Kudos on the Id lore, I love it!  I don't know that I ever got far enough in Wolfenstien to meet that Harbinger guy, but the fact that someone remembered that line and brought him back in Doom II RPG is pretty neat.  I have D2RPG on my blackberry and I've been playing it periodically on the bus.  It's a pretty cool re-implementation of the old Doom engine.  (D1RPG also exists but was significantly less impressive.)

I've got to side with the others who say it should be any marine, though.  Mainly to avoid the stigma of "needing" to play the Green marine, but also because I have two sets of Doom and have painted the other three marines in new colours (so Green may not even be in a game we play =P)

For our games, we'll just randomly pick a marine who's in game to be the marked marine, probably by doing a little "Russian Roulette" with the red die.  ("Whoever rolls an X first is it!")

Hmm. Maybe then what I'll do is create a Blazkowicz token that the Invader player gives to one of the marines, and any time that marine is fragged, the Invader earns an additional Frag token.

The token idea is a good one Shnar, just with a picture of Blazkowicz. And this way the invader player can choose the player he wants to kill most demonio.gif (I love this if you haven't noticed)

This game could really use a Vagary Avatar... Doom's Spider Queen :) I really hope you will consider that posibility, I love the Vagary... It just needs some beefing up though. You could make her upgrades really beef up trites... nasty little buggers.

Bertruger is very nice and i like his ability... What mini would you use to play him in the avatar fight?

Since Betruger is the only "new" Avatar, not based on any existing model, I'm going to make a 2x3 tile to represent him, similar to the Guardian's tile.

On a side note, this would be a fun custom mini to sculpt...

Focus, shnar, focus! Get this game done FIRST, then think about sculpting minis ;)
