The Encounter Sets include Agents of (1)Hastur:The Path To Carcosa, (2)Yog-Sothoth:The Dunwich Legacy, (3)Shub-Niggurath:Unknown cycle, and (4)Cthulhu:Unknown cycle So the next two campaigns will likely be centered around good old Cthulhu and Shub-Niggurath I think this is very plausible, especially given what we've gotten so far. I'll go a little further, and guess that they'll want to end the initial cycle on the best known Old One, so I think Cthulhu will be the last one, and will guess that Shub-Niggurath will be next. A name for that cycle... The Lovecraft story that introduced her was "The Last Test," but I don't see that as a great springboard for titles. Her worshippers include Sarnath, which I think is a better start for a title, especially given that our first two cycles have both had place names in them. Maybe combine the two - "Last Test of Sarnath?" I don't really like that one, but maybe something along those lines.

zooeyglass 327 Posted January 11, 2018 Interesting thinking on the nomenclature, @agarrett. There are certainly plenty of options in Shub's alternative names and titles that surround that cult - 'The All-Mother', 'The Thousand Young', 'The Black Goat of the Woods'. I think the Call of Cthulhu card game had a Shub expansion called The Thousand Young too... 1 Soakman reacted to this

Dunwich immediately following shows us that they are also going to mix things up and try new things. But they still keep the archetypes the same in the box so as to not overwhelm us. The core set investigators were designed to work with the limited cardpool inside the core box. I don’t imagine their being any deeper meaning than that. The Dunwich investigators are far more representative of their class types. 1 Jobu reacted to this
