Not thrilled by the storm troopers.

You're also more than welcome to sculpt your own super realistic dynamic real life soldier poses. Would be a lot more productive than what you're currently doing

This can only be productive if it generates discussion, thus far it seems like people are happy 'because' and the poses I like are met with hostility or are deemed terrible for reasons unknown.

I am interested in Star wars legion.  I have played a shitload of miniature games.  Lord of the rings sbg, 40k, stargrunt ii, WAB, fire and fury, flames of war, bolt action, infinity, frostgrave, and a bunch that I don't remember the name of any more.  Legion has by far the highest quality plastic miniatures and most intriguing ruleset of anything I have played.  I put miniature detail and paint job far above poses in terms of importance.  I have always just converted anything I don't like anyways and so far legion has only given me poses I like.    They look like the awesome space opera stormtroopers I want. Not a bunch of **** nato troops.  If you want serious sci fi simulation play stargrunt or tomorrows war.

Game mechanics doesn't have anything to do with this subject, you make no sense at all.

Soldiering involves keeping the barrel of the weapon away from your face and from others, so you have high ready or low ready. I don't care if it is a laser, ballistic, whatever. Soldiers are trained to fire from the shoulder, they are also trained to position their body in a firing stance etc, it doesn't matter on the fiction.

Depicting any of that has nothing to do with the subject being Space Opera, or real life/NATO. Heck, I included an image of the star-wars unleashed toys which you didn't comment, and I also said the snow troopers were better, which you didn't comment on either.

Are the snow troopers less space opera because of their poses? Lol...

The point is you are arguing something that is clearly subjective, you are in a forum filled with people who are excited and itching to get their hands on these minis and you seem to want something that is clearly provided by many other games.  I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish other than register a complaint.

Correct, register a complaint, get discussion going so FFG can sort it and people like me who figure X or Y game system has the better infantry, will jump in on Star Wars.

Look, most people will ****** sets up, we all know it. But they will turn off fast because the poses are limited, and we all want 100 storm troopers running around our houses, but with poses like this what the heck does FFG expect from us? Do they care or is this game 'limited' in scale and imagination?

I don't mean to be a prick but I am serious.. Star Wars could rock the boat if it wasn't afraid to do so, but all I see are really boring, already done decisions being made for a 'safe' launch. I mean was there any interviews or discussions why the sets are 7 men only? How is it that the box art is more exciting than these poses?

I didn't comment on the star wars minis you posted because they were awful.  All of them. They look like bad 80s cop movie poses. The ffg snowtroopers are great.  Trust me I know how people hold guns.  I own and use quite a few myself.

If you too the time to read any of the other threads where many of us have discussed the rules of this game you would understand that having hundreds of Stormtroopers is not possible within the scope of this game and you would know why there are 7 men to a box.  So it's time to let this thread die like all the other **** complaint threads.

It was a figure of speech. I wouldn't play with 100 figs at that scale.

Also.. why are the expansions exactly the same as the core, not even any different poses thrown in? I could go on, but ya'll are easily pleased with current events.

Wow internet, really scraping the barrel on things to complain about today.

Its threads like this that are giving "Star Wars Fans" a bad name.

Just enjoy the fact that we are getting this game with amazing quality scuplts. If you want to change the way the models are posed, kitbash! Its part of the hobby.

Otherwise, sitdown, shut up and enjoy the twin golden age of both boardgames and Star Wars. Who knows, you might even accidentally start a positive, constructive discussion.

I'm giving Star Wars fans a bad name for complaining about a lack of poses and poses that I find dull/boring?

Tell me Funk Fu, what exactly is inspiring about a squad leader standing up and pointing his arm in a direction that has not already been depicted to death?

I'm not interested in the 'Just enjoy the fact' 'because' arguments. I vote with my wallet, and I'm not going to shrug my shoulders and say 'oh well, nothin I can do' and buy it anyway. I would like to get involved but I am here to register my complaint. I could of said "hey the poses suck lolololo not buyin'." but that doesn't mean anything, least to me.

(IA is pretty awesome though, no argument there, also Armada is solid IMO.)

If they make a box with troopers like these, I'm in.

Oh what is that, aiming while advancing? too 'NATO' for the Space Opera that is wave your hands around and don't shoot at anything box set.

Battlefield II (the first one) is as far as I went with that series.

Anyway, I've made my complaint. Seems people are happy enough they are getting the game in the first place more than anything else, time will tell if changes are made. I'll keep my eye on it.

Let me guess, you play in 3rd person don’t you?

I prefer to play in 2nd person future tense, just to be different.

”You plan to shoot that Stormtrooper, though fate will attempt to foil you. Fortunately you suspect he will be playing in 1st person and aiming down the sight, so his situational awareness will be terrible. And so your plan will bear violent and bloody fruit....”.

Now that’s hard work.

Yeah but its nothing near fourth person future with past tense results.

Yep, that makes as much as sense as your space opera comment. Thanks for the input.

Those clone trooper examples are killing me. One is posing for a magazine shoot. One is falling over. One is dead. And the one on the far right is.... well... he's pooping.

None of them are falling over, the guy on the ground that's called a 'prone' position, the one on far right is in a more modern firing stance but with his knees bent more than usual.

Good job at identifying none of that.

I think you are referring to the Weaver stance.  That is definitely not a Weaver stance.  That is the "taking a standing dump" stance.  As for my space opera comment what I mean is that I am more interested in good looking Stormtroopers than trying to match them to some sort of real world ideal.

I will say one final time since you can't seem to understand the ******* concept.  This. Is. Subjective.  You seem to be the only one with your panties in a bunch over the poses. Nobody likes your weird clone trooper poses. Buy the product or don't that is up to you. Go discuss rules or strategies or army lists or something. Ffg isn't going to change the sculpts and if you hate them so much, learn some modeling skills and change them.  I did it for years with metal models. Plastic is a breeze.

What is real world about the picture from Rouge One?

Sorry but the poses are dull. Rebel Troops don't fair much better either.
