Hmm, that's a tricky one. The mixed damage makes a lot more team-ups possible, but the cost really hurts. Cienna Ree might be a fun partner. Or, for a slightly more thematic team-up, a single-die Seventh Sister. I really like his dice and power action, but I think his cost might leave him stranded without a great partner. To me he kinda seems like the General Grievous of this set. Luckily, they gave him a good amount of health.

14/18pts is a difficult one to fill especially for a mix damager, despite having a way to mitigate mix damage.

If he had weaker faces and less health to be a 10pt single, id see him paired with nuPalp alot just because of the damage spread and access to red cards.

But...14/18? At that cost he's the main force in your list and he just cant really do it with that die and basically no ability (his ability mitigates mixed damage but its wasted due to it takes an action to do it anyway JUST USE THE DAMAGE AS IS lol)

How about eMother Talzin? MT has ranged damage sides, and depending on how you build your deck can use her ability as well as Kallus power action to focus. Imperial discipline and his bo rifle could be good on Kallus too. I think electrostaff has a place here as well since you can power action to his pay side

Why  you wanna force him into elite? I would play him at single dice with another 16 points powerhouse elite (one if the fetts for example). His dice and ability makes so consistent combo that you can really utilize him to maximum just as a single dice guy.

Actually not. You may roll 1s. You may need to modify it. You may play vs Deflects. There is **** lot of scenarios where his ability is great.

And when his partner or upgrades have modifiers out?

I actually think his ability could be really good - roll a 1 damage? Make it a 2 or 3. Need base damage for modifiers? Do that. Opponent is playing blue? This helps you avoid either force misdirection or deflect...

He is just so damned expensive though...

Instead of  mixed damage I see him as max damage because of his power action. I think he will be very strong.

Royal Guard + Profitable Connection - Mixed colors against New Kylo and Guardian.

or

Magnaguard + Profitable Connection - Electrostaff's on either character is good.

or

Elite Bib Fortuna - Kallus has good dice. Use them again after activating and resolving him.

eTalzim or possibly eBala. What makes characters good in this game is consistency. Poe through dice...OG vader through cards...new vader through dice...new phasma through dice...old poe through maz...this guy smells of consistency and that is always a sign that he is going to be good to me.

Consistency isn't everything

Someone like Poe2 isn't just consistent,  but can control your opponent and special chain into incredible damage with his blaster

Also no pay sides is a huge deal, as is being a lot cheaper

Unless I'm misunderstanding and kallus' power action affects both dice (unlikely with "this die") he's just too low impact for his cost.

My Idea was discovered in searching for a pair with Maul. For single Kallus E Maul I feel would be great! And on top of that there is a ton of health. For Elite you could pair him with a single Ketsu that way you have the automatic redeploy and still have the mixed damage sides. But I too am still looking for a good match for him.

I still don't see him being in any tier 1 decks. He is playable though.

We do not have solid T1 decks yet ;) Zeb and new Obi are energing slowly but meta is nowhere near settled yet.

He may word very nice in Kalus/Bala/Nightsister - that looks crazy consistent.

Not to mention he has a 2 focus side (more consistency) and 2 range damage sides. Poe II is probably one of the most consistent dice we have right now. If you want an example of an inconsistent character look no further then JK Luke who only has 2 sides that you want to see ever and even then it is debatable really he only has 1 side you want to see, if it isnt the 3 he aint worth the point cost. (tried so hard to make it ok to see his other sides but really they are a waste at his cost and his ability does next to nothing to help out either which is a shame). Kallus almost promises to give you at least a 2 or a 3 damage side if not both every time you roll him out and that is really good + he does it at 2 points cheaper and he still has the same health. Dark side may be missing some good 12 point characters for him but I still think there is plenty that he can do at that health and cost and die sides.

Did someone not read "isn't just consistent"?

That automatically says he IS consistent and posseses qualities beyond that, specifically no pay sides and an incredible ability that doubles as defense and dice control (yours and your opponent's)

Also that ridiculous double focus that makes your other character(s)/supports/upgrades more consistent, whereas kallus only affects himself

Obligatory .....

ya but Kallus affects himself in a way to basically make himself a better Luke for the villains. Sure he has to pay for the 3 side, but you can almost guarantee getting a 2 and a 3 side every time you roll him out, and that is with him being 2 points cheaper allowing 2 dice pairings from 11 and 12 point characters the issue is more the lack of 12 point characters on the villain side then Kallus himself. Mother Talzin could be good with him, and so could Bala Tik or even Ciena Ree, Another option would be to go Death Trooper or Storm Trooper with him and have a 2 or 3 point plot. Point is though he is basically a cheaper more consistently powerful Luke for the Villains.
