Here is another Flametrooper design from the Clone Wars, it might be a cool color scheme to make them not stand out as much when put with desert units.

Exactly.  Desert climate?  Send in white stormtroopers.  Death Star detail?  White stormtroopers.  Forest moon?  White stormtroopers.  City floating in gas giant?  White stormtroopers.  Riot duty in the capital city?  White stormtroopers.

If we take "snowtroopers" as the colloquialism for a hazardous environment-equipped stormtrooper, then why would it be so strange to see white snowtroopers in any climate?  They'd fit right in, actually.  It's the troopers in different colored armor that are the vast minority in the Imperial Army.  Shore troopers, death troopers, blackhole troopers, etc. are all the odd man out.  By and large, the Empire likes its soldiers in white.
