Piscettios 32 Posted December 5, 2017 I like that they made Hondo neutral. He was the first to come to mind when rivals were announced. Bib Fortuna is the one I’m most looking forward to trying out, of these listed.
jc1138 11 Posted December 5, 2017 I like to see this design space being explored. Jar Jar looks thematic (I'm not a hater and look forward to using him at this cost), and Bib and Awakenings Vader look interesting, w/ Bib taking Tusken's place.
Vineheart01 6,403 Posted December 5, 2017 correct me if im wrong but since it doesnt say "force you to activate him as your next action" the first blip on Jarjar does NOT waste your action, correct? Way im seeing it is basically he's activating my character to force the reroll, either before i can potentially benefit from it or when his dice are crap right now. Mep 2,291 Posted December 5, 2017 It is so hard to read FFG's articles because they are full of errors. Jar Jar's card says the opponent spends the action to activate him. He's a sound the alarm basically. So yes, Jar Jar is forced to activate and if you own him it is now your turn and can resolve whatever rolled out. Many things are said about Jar Jar, boring isn't one of them. I don't see him in anything outside of fun decks though. Bib is interesting as he can combo with stuff. Other than resolving a really good character dice I am wondering if there is a character action that removes its dice that has a really good effect to use Bib with? GooeyChewie 372 Posted December 5, 2017 Greedo - Insane amount of damage for his point total, reigned in only by his low health pool. The sheer damage output forces your opponent to focus on him, which gives you other 19 points worth of characters room to breath. I’ll run him! Bib Fortuna - He can’t close games. Once your big guns go down he’ll falter faster than a three-legged horse at the Kentucky Derby. Four of his sides do nothing without other dice to help. Bib gets a thumbs down from me. Saw - He has the damage numbers of a character four points more expensive than himself. But it remains to be seen how much indirect proves a drawback. I may pair him with Ackbar, where his special may get its own damage and trigger the fish. Jar Jar - I’m not even sure how to evaluate this guy right now. His dice are so scattered you can’t count on a ‘safe’ side, but neither can your opponent. I’ll give him a try. Should be fun, at least. Hondo - One of my favorite characters from the Clone Wars cartoon! For heroes he could pair with Poe to chain into his special, or with Snap (and a Plot card) to force the opponent to choose between claiming and bribing Hondo. On the villain side, I’m not sure of his partner, but he can trigger Salvage Stand, to keep the opponent poor.
Vineheart01 6,403 Posted December 5, 2017 wonder if the intent behind Cantina Brawl is you could in theory discard your entire hand trading 1 damage to each other lol.... 1 Ywingscum reacted to this
MaxPower 928 Posted December 5, 2017 7pt Greedo is an incredibly good filler, I suppose.

He's not going to do much on his own, and even if you manage to get something like another Vader die in it's going to be incredibly slow. Vader/Raider works because it can build the Tusken into a decent force. Fortuna won't. As a friend of mine put it, you're handing your opponent the easiest target selection ever. Amanal 2,557 Posted December 6, 2017 My take on these cards: Greedo: Will end the odd game where he gets a good shot of before he is defeated. At 2 dice he has a 75% chance of getting at least once dice showing damage and a pretty decent 25% of 2+ damage. I think his ability creates a great catch 22 problem as to what to attack first. Bib: For his cost the ability is great, pair him with a big character and in effect get 3 of those fantastic dice each turn. Saw: Discard a random card from any players hand, so it can be your own hand, I discard my last card, oh look what was that pesky millenium falcon doing in there? Jar Jar: I think they nailed the theme, his ability is rather luck dependent and very swingie. I can't help but want to pair him with Feint, for those turns where one play of his ability just isn't annoying enough. Explosive Tactics: Pairs so well with cards that look at the top of a players deck. Runaway Boomas: A pairing with Jar Jar that seems almost made to delight and entertain audiences everywhere. Makes that plot card that allows you to start with 3 resources somewhat of an interesting choice.
DJRAZZ 56 Posted December 6, 2017 This game is getting very interesting. But it is brutal on the wallet. One year in and so much product. This hurts collectibility.
Willange 682 Posted December 6, 2017 I think Jar Jar could work as a mill hero card. Force your opponent to re-roll their damage while you prep. Plus, you wouldn't have to re-roll your important dice at least some of the time.

I believe that is exactly how it is played though FFG can do a poor job of clearly explaining their cards' effects. This is one of those FAQ cards. He looks like even more of an idiot than usual. I also like that he's a character that you're "forced" to activate (like he's a net negative)! (I say this all as a Jar Jar fan actually. Glad FFG had the guts to bring him in.) 3 jc1138, Robin Graves and anthemius reacted to this
Vineheart01 6,403 Posted December 6, 2017 I actually liked jarjar *dodges incoming rocks* What i didnt like was they used him too much. He was suppose to be the comic relief that had minor relevancy to the plot but there wasnt a single scene involving our heroes where he didnt do something stupid. Its not funny when its constant, timing is very important in humor. 1 Aces1973 reacted to this

See how much fun he is when your opponent takes a flame to the card, I may leave the dice well alone, who knows what you may inhale burning one of those puppies. Though for fun I do have access to a laser cutting machine, Jar Jar will make a very good test subject. I really like Saw, the idea of just loading up on cards that cost horrible amounts and randomly draw them out of your own hand just seems like a very un-hero type of thing to do. I think he may have to take a trip to the balance of the force section of the rules though. A strange version of Poe/Maz where you rid yourself of 2-3 cards then apply those specials. 1 DarthBlade reacted to this

I'm desperately hoping that it's intended that you can keep discarding even if your opponent does not (though that's definitely not what the card says). Because if not this is truly the most useless card I've ever seen even if it is supposed to be "fun". Edited December 6, 2017 by DarthBlade
