Did a parker Guidry impression. Then claimed he was just fixing his dial after the fact. Either way he touched and changed his dial while the other player was moving his ship. He took an auto loss for the next round, but I think the punishment was too light.

Some never learn

Although I must say that unlike the infamous Guidry incident, where you could easily compare two screenshots of the dial to check where the movements are before and after, this time those same screenshots doesn't look exactly clear to me. Still, if he has actually received the sanction then that's it. And unlike Guidry, he actually lost the game where it happened.

Yeah, he took auto loss for the next round, he did play that round anyway.

If the supposition that games on stream contain substantially less cheating than regular games is accurate, there is a lot of cheating going on in high level X-wing.

Personally, it's my belief that there's a lot of cheating in X-Wing, period, though I understand your point.

The game has absolutely changed.  And not for the better.

Hopefully Blair caught his misplay of XX-23 in his game against Ernie, and didn't repeat it.  (It ended up not mattering in that instance.)

About 3:00, maybe a little before.

Did he give a TL to someone out of range for it?

The bigger misplay was where he swapped #4 and #42, while marking the position of #4 during the Fenn block around 3:31.

Yeah, to at least a couple of Zs.  Like I said, didn't matter ... the TLed ship died immediately.

Missed that one.

Lots of shadowcasters and lots of auzitucks. At least one top 8 Auzi list with 3x expertise tactician and one is lowrick. I believe there is a Palp aces 2nd after swiss and an imperial aces top 8 as well. Bunke won two games on final salvo. I believe there is a double scurgg list as well that made top 8.

There was a game where two shadowcasters collided by the board edge and then could not complete any maneuver without bumping or flying off so they were stuck until something happened. One had gyroscopic targeting and could move his arc each turn giving him the edge in the end.

As the main culprit in the spanish ‘cheating’ incident, I consider appropriate to address the community to humbly give my version of the facts.

As I claimed later in the interview, what happened is that I revealed my dial before time, and as I did so, the dial moved. Then, I ‘simply’ proceeded to correct the dial back to its original maneuver, and put it down again, all while my rival already had already begun to move the decimator.

I assure you there wasn’t any malice involved in the tampering, and that’s why it got caught in camera so clearly, since I wasn’t trying to consciously hide anything from anyone. It was an automatic and thoughtless act of ‘fixing things’. Nevertheless, was the tampering illegal according to tournament rules? Absolutely.

After watching the record, from that camera angle, and out of context, I was the first to admit that the movement seemed indeed too suspicious, and so, I even volunteered to drop from the tournament to not cause any further inconvenience to anyone. Ultimately, the judges decided that a fair warning and the loss was sufficient punishment. I played my last match anyways, since I went to the tournament to play and have fun with other pilots, regardless of the final result.

If you review the match, you can see that the game was pretty much already decided in favor of my rival at the ‘cheating’ point. That maneuver was also the most probable bearing anyone could have also chosen for the ship involved, and I truly think it didn’t gave me any particular advantage, nor it would have changed the outcome of the match at that point.

Many people just like to draw blood and flak other players when these things happen. I acknowledge that, and I also accept it as part of my punishment, and of course, everyone is free to believe me or not. I apologize to anyone who could have felt offended by this matter, but since fortunately the situation caused no harm to anyone involved -except me-, and since I got rightly punished, I will simply ask the community to not give this matter any more attention than it really deserves.
