jank city

problem here is the only extra munitions is a Bomb upgrade, so you're either only getting 1 MM template or you're not going to have any bombs to use after MM

Or have more than one bomber.  Yes, it's all shades of jank, but then most pilots are it's only the occasional one that's actually good.

Minefield Mapper does create an even larger area of "I don't want to go there" in combination with Cobalt Leader. Sounds...fun...I guess.

not really

the "I don't want to go there" effect is just a single 2-dice primary that hits you at -1 agility. Hardly the stuff of nightmares, or even a cause for concern

Cobalt is textbook definition of "not worth it". even if he just flat-out reduced the agility of the ship for the rest of your squad, he'd still be jank

Never mind. Cobalt isn't good. BUT! Are ya ready for this one kiddos?

Trajectory cobalt plus a snap juke a wing mini-swarm.

One list makes this viable. Sorta

As I read it, Cobalt leader only affects his own shots, though. If it was any enemy ship within range 1 of a bomb token takes -1 agility from any attacker, he/she (anyone read cobalt squadron?) would be a whole different level of brutal.

I can see Crimson Leader being nasty. Especially if you can pair with Sabine Wren, that's 2 red dice plus one critical plus one non-critical damage - that's a heck of a scary bomb.

why?

Cobalt doesn't help anyone, he only modifies his own attack. You're better off with more snap juke A-wings

  • Crimson Leader's ability looks good for a bomb-heavy squad.
  • Ideally you want to pair it with Sabine to turn already scary bombs into mini-nukes
  • However, Crossfire specifically needs a resistance ship and as yet there are no crew carriers
  • Nothing stops you putting trajectory bomblets on Nym provided you have the Havoc title (although you'd then need a third ship to carry sabine - maybe a captured TIE?)
  • Using Crimson Leader with Connor nets to set up bomb traps might work? With Deflective Plating, you can afford to "danger close" with bomblets if you need to.

Some nice cards in there, but really, this just reinforces that Disney needs to work more with FFG to get some character names out before the movie. The TFA Core Set, TIE/fo, T-70 pack and now this thing is just bereft of creative names and its disappointing. Its a fluffy, cosmetic thing, but a little more polish wouldn't have hurt. <_<

Really surprised Adv Optics was only 2 pts.

I'm most interested in the PS4 ability to place bombs where it needs to around him.  That makes for a pretty tricky customer to plan around.

Do we think we know if action bombs can used with this ability?
Dropping a Conner as such could be devastating.

Looks like Crimson Specialist is just for reveal bombs.

"When placing a bomb token you dropped after revealing your maneuver dial, you may place the bomb token anywhere in the play area touching your ship."

This ship might have a hard time trying to fit into a Resistance based squad utilizing that title. The pts add up very quick with this ship even though its moderately cheap base cost for so much health.

2 pt Crossfire Formation

2 pt Ordnance Silos

2 pt Bomb minimum

1 pt Trajectory Simulator = 1 pt Deflective Plating so that's actually 2 pts

If not Trajectory Simulator, good argument for Accuracy Corrector, but that's at 3 pts.

Finding a balance what's really needed on this ship will make list building for this more difficult with the currently available Resistance ships. Might take for the RZ-2 Resistance A-Wing to come out to consider Crossfire Formation, but for now, you could probably just save 2 pts and not take the title.

As soon as I saw it I knew this would be an issue... I had a bit of an internal headshake.

They need to really clarify how this 'multiple factions but really the same faction' thing works explicitly. RAW, it seems that only the new movie ships work with it, but I think it's intended to work with the whole Rebel faction too.

Who knows, maybe the rule sheet included clarifies this for sure. But for now, I think everyone will reasonably allow you to use it as intended.

I don't think it's intended to be used with all Rebels at all, I think it is only intended to be used with Resistance ships. And that is easy enough to explain to anyone how that works: "All Resistance ships are Rebels, but all Rebels are not Resistance."

New Falcon is Resistance.  There's your Sabine caddy?

Good point. I forgot that one. And it's tough enough to survive the odd screw-up and being clipped with a bomb.  It plus Crimson Leader is pretty much your squad, though.

I'm not sure exactly how you'd use it. Sabine on a Resistance Falcon makes me want to try the "Bomba Larga" with VI Han, Sabine and Chopper and first-turn mine someone, just for the comedy value of it.

black1 title

because you have to spend to re-flip intensity, Optics are basically counter-synergy

Agreed. It's basically a way to sort of but not quite make intensity Poe, but do it at PS11 so Black One actually works against the VI missile strike crowd.

Unless you spend the evade token instead.

So, you could focus up with AO, then in a pinch boost for an evade token.  If you use it, great - if not, great.

I was thinking of running Rebel Finn with Intensity Poe.  Finn could give Poe a PS9-11 boost.
