For the  Phoenix:

More nuts and bolts Shiba bushi who benefit from shugenja in some direct or indirect fashion- a sort of mirror to the Shiba Yojimbo who benefits shugenja by being on the board. Not spuds, but guys you can build a conflict style around.

More spud shugenja who aren't that great by themselves, but who can caddy spells and buff the aforementioned Shiba- or to make a shugenja swarm deck.

More Elemental Masters (I reckon we'll get these fairly quickly)

I REALLY like where spells are right now, not wedded to being attachments- so keep that up, FFG!

A couple of ways to Honor our guys whose glory factors into their cost- Benten's Touch is already on deck to do that, but being able to count on honoring one or two guys a turn would be nice.

LOVING the Courtier and Monk love the Phoenix have gotten so far- some flubs written into the old lore aside, Phoenix are supposed to be better at court than they are at war (The old three way metric of Magic/War/Court would have gone 3/1/2 for them in theory- in practice, it was more like 3/1/1), and it's nice to see monks who aren't boulder-splitting combat henshin represented.

 

For the Crab:

Moar Kuni. Because I love them.

 

For the Unicorn:

A couple of solid characters to build playerbase morale...

 

For Everybody:

Neutral Minor Clan cards- both Dynasty and Conflict. Maybe, since they won't be evergreen, design them to only join certain clans- like, Sparrow would play well with Crane, Dragonfly could join Dragon or Phoenix, Centipede working with Phoenix, Lion and Scorpion get left out in the cold completely because they're such jerks :P, Fox playing well with Crane or Unicorn, Hare working with Crab, and so forth.

More neutral Brotherhood cards. The Seeker/Keeper initiates already mean they have a presence, but, you know... always room for more in my heart, if not in my deck...

I think ranged/archer stuff should probably be something like if the target costs less than X, or has military skill less than X, bow it. Basically make it like Fear except get rid of the requirement of no followers etc.

For what it's worth, most Shugenja actions for Phoenix can be activated from home, so it does seem to represent some sort of 'ranged-but-not-embattled' distance.

I'd like to see two things in particular:

•Mirumoto get cards that give them a solid identity (dueling doesn't seem to be anywhere near as meaningful in the LCG, and "kensai" is just built right into the rules for everyone).
•More cards that support the "pay to a Ring" play-style so that it doesn't feel like I'm just handing free Fate to my opponent. :P

Summoning Oni - Allow them to be payed for by spending fate on rings, thus the path to the shadowlands being easier.

 

Crab Clan Shugenja and Spells that matter for them.

Crab Military (Force) Duels, O-Ushi, Test of Might, Etc.not alot of crab tricks for conflict.

Holdings that Generate Fate.  Not via an action like they are now.  just Yasuki District, while in play strong hold has +1 Fate.  Would combo well with boardlands Fortification and allow Crab to funnel their enemies.

Crab Punishment for opponents honoring everything.  Action: Seijutsu- your opponent discard the top card of his conflict deck for every honored character he has.

More Holding Efficiency.  Holdings and necessary for a lot of crab to function but slow their dynasty deck to a crawl.  Give us a Kiau Engineer or a conflict action that allows us to move holdings to the stronghold.

 

More Poisons for Scorpion.  Where is my poisoned Weapon?

More manipulation, seriously where are the geisha to lure the samurai away form the duties at war...

That's magic. There's some sense with that because well... it's magic.

Ranged being from home is an abstraction that imo would be really stupid. That's just my feeling.

Gotta admit I was surprised we got a shadowlands creature, right in the frist expansion. Keep 'em comming!

Somthing like "Naval" where the attacker gets to take an action first.

A neutral card that let's you bow a character (without you needing a specific trait like Bushi or Courtier)

Make cavalry great again!

The Seven Thunders, of course.

And Tsuko.

Perhaps they'll all appear in the same pack, though that's highly unlikely. If such a pack ever exists, it will sell out in a matter of days. Everywhere. The reprint too. And the second reprint. And the third. And so on and on and on.

Hmm, I dunno...that could potentially mean Unicorn getting a GOOD card. Can't let that happen now, can we?

Wish list: A political version of Captive Audience that turns military conflicts into political one's. A political version of Banzai! that would give you +2 political up to twice a turn (gifting your opponent 1 honor or gaining them one from the pool), a political version of Charge! that lets you rush in a personality from your dynasty deck to aid in a political conflict. Actions / attachments that create duels (preferably political ones), Doji Reju (winning ties), Kakita Toshimoko (built in duel), Daidoji Uji, Doji Kuwanan. Other than that I want to see more cards that straight gain you honor, allowing Honor victories to be realistically achievable but doesn't break the game by making it too easy to win.

 Just thought of one that would tempt me to play Shadowlands (just for funsies of course):

Corrupted Ground (Shadowlands Province)

Province Strength: 3

Reaction: When this province is revealed, choose one - remove 1 fate from each participating non-Shadowlands character, or discard a participating character with printed cost 3 or less which has no fate on it. 

Maybe paired with:

Corrupted Dead

Cost: 2  2/0/0

Shadowlands. Corrupted. Undead.

Reaction: When an opponent's character is discarded by one of your card abilities - put this character into play from a province or your discard pile.

Since we now have two mantras for Dragon I would love to see the other three as well as more tattoo other than Centipede.

Mantra of Air 0 cost event 

When opponent declares Air conflict, target monk or character with monk attachment, ready and move that character to the conflict and draw a card.

Mantra of Void 0 cost event

When opponent declares Void conflict, target monk or character with monk attachment, take one Fate off a participating character and give it to the target monk. Draw a card

Mantra of Earth 0 cost event

When opponent declares Earth conflict, target monk or character with monk attachment, Honor that character and draw a card.

 

Lion Tattoo 0 cost attachment

+1 Mil +0 Pol 

When attached character is in Military conflict, gains +1 Mil

Scorpion Tattoo 0 cost attachment

+0 Mil +1 Pol

Attached character cannot be dishonored

When it comes to those Kiho, is the current design of 'When an opponent declares X conflict' acceptable? I like the idea, but feel like it's not reliable enough to run them. Maybe use Jade Masterpiece to stack fate on the ring you have kiho for? Is that even any better than just moving fate to a ring you are going to take? I dunno, haven't been playing dragon. Are Kiho decent ideas, or do they need changing?

I personally would like to see some more ways in which to interact with the Dynasty Deck. Right now, 3x is the golden rule for Dynasty building because there are so few ways to impact Dynasty Draw; therefore, consistency is its most important aspect. On the other hand, there are a myriad of ways to interact with the Conflict Deck: bidding, card draw, card effects that let you pick up and search, etc. As soon as more cards come our way with abilities that let us have more freedom with what pops up from our Dynasty Deck, Dynasty Deck building gets a whole lot more nuanced. Suddenly, 1x and 2x cards go from, "I need to have something to fill up the last few awkward slots," to, "Okay, I'm going to slide this in here for utility and tech."
