KillingGoblinBabiesIsDishonorable 20 Posted October 30, 2017 For effects such as the earth opportunity "remove one strife from a character in the scene per opportunity spent" or similar, does the player using the ability count as one of the characters in the scene that can be targeted? It seems like it would just be a better version of the water opportunity in that case.
Franwax 386 Posted October 30, 2017 I’d say this one is meant for other characters only. Otherwise as you say, it’s strictly better than the water version.
WHW 1,817 Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Quote You count as a viable target, as it does not require 'another', 'other' or 'opponent' character. Water is better to use on yourself to get multiple strife out - Earth is only 1, as extra investment forces you to pick other targets. Doji Meshou 130 Posted October 30, 2017 My reading is that "a character" means any character, including you, while "another character" would mean anyone but you. 1 Magnus Grendel reacted to this
Franwax 386 Posted October 30, 2017 Well I have to give reason to the majority ;p. Had not read it this way, but by strict interpretation WHW and Meshou are right
AK_Aramis 1,002 Posted October 31, 2017 Several specify "including self" but this doesn't; a consistency issue.
