Amanal 2,557 Posted November 15, 2017 Would be nice if they managed an expansion in the form of a campaign system.

I'm down for that. I imagine it'd get a few bunched panties though 2 Zephyr444 and Tirion reacted to this

Some people bought it for the new pilot cards and missions. Some people didn't buy it. I don't remember anyone complaining very loudly.

There's always going to be a negative outcry to just about any announcement. Having said that, I don't think there would be many legitimate reasons for a negative outcry in this case. Id like a campaign expansion for Legion though, for sure. Lots that could be done with that! 2 Basylle and Admiral Deathrain reacted to this

Nba2k? or any of the other dozens of triple A games that have come out in recent years that have included some form of loot boxes? The gaming community is acting like this is a new concept. When in fact it had been in practice for some time now. this isn't even the worst loot system to come out in the last 2 months. Also some of the complaints were just flat out lies (40 hours to unlock a hero for example) and it became cool to hate on the game. I hate EA as much as the next guy but everyone judging this game without playing it and making opinions on other people's opinions that haven't played the game either is crazy. Extropia 1,475 Posted November 22, 2017 DO own the game, and the actual game is fun....but thats not the issue. The problem isnt just the loot boxes. It's the fact that the loot boxes are directly tied to progression, you can't earn them without MANY hours of grinding unless you pay rl money, and all the ways the game deliberately punishes for not spending money. But this isnt the place for that discussion at all, so i'll drop it there. Battlefront has no real bearing on this topic. 1 Cusm reacted to this
VAYASAN 850 Posted November 22, 2017 Ive decided to not buy BF2 based on opinions...thats EASs fault and they wont have my business again while they focus so much on releasing stuff for more cash after purchase rather than quality product at launch and then moving on with extras if warranted. Mep 2,291 Posted November 23, 2017 Years ago when EA was awarded the exclusive licensing for SW games many people were very upset and sad that happened. Nothing that has happened over the years or in the past months have change why people are upset and sad that EA is making SW games. BFII is par for the course for EA. There is no need to play any EA game to know what that EA game entails. They are who they are. 2 Cusm and Tirion reacted to this
Ralgon 1,005 Posted January 7, 2018 (edited) Sorry for the necromancy but i didn't see the point in starting a new thread...... Just pulled the trigger on a 2 core preorder with a handy discount...... my personal reasoning- 1.) I'm not sure which faction i'm running yet, the second core halved the cost to get both sides as expansions + dice (in Australia, i get this won't be the case everywhere) 2.) Looking at the content pics of the expansions ( and assuming they are complete, which would be awfully unlike ffg if they weren't) you're only missing out on 3-4 cards. The facedown *should* be the +1 trooper card the the rebel and stormtrooper pack, so they only add grappling hooks and impact grenades (which if you're also paying attention also feature in the snowtrooper pack) + the equipment upgrades in the atrt and speeder bikes. personally i'm fine running those with comlinks for the most part anyway. 3.) There's still space in the force org charts to buy those expansions at a later date and still not have too many. The 2x cores only fills 4 trooper units and 2x support, you still have wiggle room for 1-2 of each. As is, if i go rebel i still only have roughly 700 points worth of troops. 4.) I figure i can hock off luke and vader to someone who doesn't want their own core. Without a doubt *someone* will want to forgo the core sets for a themed snow trooper army, or want to do their own conversion of the heroes without wanting to hack up their own, i'll see if i can resell the heroes+ forcepowers. 5.) I'm known to do model conversion from time to time. If i am boned by cards, it's not a total loss. Parts for the parts bin! some of the stuff i did with 40k came off well, my brain has already been ticking on if and how i could incorporate some of the larger ia models into my "show" army to break up the rebel variety.
