As the jedi and droid leave the room it would only be a few seconds before a small group of men and women dressed in republic guard uniform arrive. It was similar to that worn by the military, but had been done in blue and white. Seeing that the jedi had left the room of their own accord, they hang back, unsure as to what to do. Eventually they slink off, back down the corridor.

The secretary was a young, sandy haired man garbed in neat official looking robes. He is seated at a desk on the floor below the admirals offices long with a large group of other workers doing goodness knows what. He would stop his work to look up with bemusement at the droid as it begins its questions.

'Hm, can't say I've seen anything odd, at least nothing that would be, you know, useful to your investigation. I don't have much to do with the more important stuff 'round here, I just keep admiral Stewth's calendar up to date and stuff. She left the offices yesterday like she told you, I think she had an appointment or something but she didn't tell me what. Protocol and stuff has been pretty tight as usual, the higher ups are very strict about that kind of stuff'. He leans back in thought for a moment before tapping on his console for a minute or so. 'Oh! The admiral did have a message yesterday. I think it was a friend from university looking to meet her sometime in the future'.

"Thank you. I will require a copy of this correspondence, or at least the sender's name and contact information."

The droid accepts what details the secretary will surrender, then cycles open a small release valve in a manner that most resembles a sigh. "And permit me to send a brief message to your Admiral." Kai-wan considers for a moment, then composes a brief memo: "Admiral Stewth. Please excuse my unprofessional behavior. I am of a suspicious nature, by design, and respond poorly to my methods being questioned. You remain under investigation, but I apologize for any erroneous conclusions I may have jumped to, founded upon an incomplete comprehension of your endocrine system. It is most embarrassing. K-1SO, Inspector."

K-1 submits a formal request to be allowed access to Stewth's closed files, then uses his newly acquired intelligence to track down her mystery contact. Catching Oola's mistrustful gaze, he realizes he has another apology to make, first. "I am sorry, Mistress. My primary programming sometimes overrides my better judgement. I know who my friends are.. or at least who my only friend is." The gangly droid extends a long arm in his intended direction of travel. "Care to join Team Stewth Sleuth?" The corny rhyme almost elicits a smile.

'Sure thing, you guys have clearance right?' the secretary says absentmindedly as he taps through the data on the console. 'Ok, yeah, it was Sarrus, erm, Sarrus Flich. A rodian I think, I'm afraid I don't know anything else about him'.He would focus as he takes the message from the droid to pass on later. 'Ok, I'll be sure she gets it'.

Zoroku leads Kattadik and Raithe to the door of the next admiral on their list. He was most interested to speak with The Socialite as he had termed her as she was the one with the most potential with connections outside the republic and could possibly be the culprit, however if innocent she could prove useful on providing information on the others.  He would have to enter the room with an open mind to her innocence but be ready to catch a lie in case she was in fact their target. Zoroku knocks on the door as soon as they arrive at her office.

As the jedi enter the room, they are surprised to be faced with an empty room. It looks as if no one even uses this office, like it had been abandoned or something. All of a sudden a woman bustles in behind them with a stack of datapads in her arms. 'Sorry I'm late' she would say quite briskly as she places them on the table at the end of the room. 'I've set aside five minutes of my schedule to talk to you, so I apologise that I do not have time for pleasantries. Yes I have access to the codes for the Fornost station, no I did not access the most recent codes. No I was not on world at the time of the attack, I was in a naval shuttle returning from a social event on Corellia, and of course the computer system cannot be accessed wireless'. It may have been a passing comment, but this could be valuable knowledge indeed.

She would sift through the pads before separating a few out from the pile. 'Here is several testimonies from senators and other officials confirming I was at the event. Here is a confirmation of my use of the shuttle including a timestamp for the journey. Here is a record of my schedule for the last month'. She would sigh as she glances up at the jedi for the first time.

She was an attractive woman in her early thirties, brown hear pulled severely into a bun behind her head. She did not wear the military uniform that the others did, instead she wore robes similar to some dignitaries around the planet. Perhaps she had not had time to change since her journey. 'So, will that be all or do you feel a need to question me?'

"Yes, I do need to ask more questions." Zoroku would say handing the pads with the information for Raithe to peruse. "Seeing as you are busy, I'll ask you all my questions at once." Zoroku clears his throat and the looks her straight in the eyes. "First, Do you have contact information for all the Senators and councilors you have given us? Do you have the contact info for the shuttle that brought you back to Coruscant to confirm with them that they did in fact transport you? Will you be reachable for the duration of the investigation?  Finally, what are your opinions on the other Admirals? " Zoroku waits for a response holding out his own data pad ready to type.

The admiral would sigh in response. 'Very well, ask your questions'. She would listen carefully with her arms cross, one index finger drumming impatiently against her elbow. 'I do not have their commlink  codes if that's what you're asking, but I suppose the senate can provide that information if you follow up with them. As for the shuttle, it was a republic naval shuttle, so the record of its use should show in the computer records. I believe that data is currently being analysed by the Corouscant officers.'

Her face would harden a little against the question about the others. 'My opinions about them are strictly professional. I do no associate with them outside of work, and until today I did not believe any of them to be capable of betrayal on this scale. Even the likes of Ovitom I would trust implicitly. Some may lack the attitude, or even the ability for command, but they are loyal to the republic'.

Kai-wan addresses his fellow investigators, Oola and Muu: "I am familiar with Admiral Stewth's recent contact: Sarrus Flich, a dangerous activist, thought to be complicit in a series of increasingly violent would-be atrocities.."

The security droid continues, after appearing to run a brief diagnostic: "His actions have been largely unsuccessful, so his acquisition has not been a priority.. but if he is tied to this.. hmm.. the timing of his message is certainly suspicious. I have a theory.. But I will keep it to myself, this time.. Wait.. Was that out loud?"

Without waiting for a response, K-1 begins heading toward the speeders. "We will need to plumb the depths of the lower levels, if we are to find the answers we seek."

Arriving at one of the speeders at their disposal, Kai-wan lithely leaps into the driver's seat. "Shall we head below? You will find my driving skills exceedingly.. adequate."

The Iktotchi found Kai-wan's interest in Sarrus Flich not unwarranted. Looking towards Oola, "I'd be happy to accompany the both of you. I believe our Jedi Sentinels can handle the rest of the admiralty questioning. Yet, we should first notify the others by message we are pursuing a lead and where our location will be in case they discover something further on their end. I'd love to still be available if one of the suspects turns out to be the traitor" Muu suggests, before following the Inspector to the landspeeder.

As the group walks along the docking pad, the Consular began taking into account the droid's direct methodology of inquiring information. "Kai-wan, considering our offsite target suspect, should we take a few of the Republic guard for a field trip? I'd hate for us to attempt the detaining of possibly an entire organization on such a pleasant day" he questions, with a slight grin on his face.

"I shall heed your hurtful words, and run a full system diagnostic forthwith," Kai-wan responds, photoreceptors dimming slightly, processors whirring.. several oncoming speeders are forced to veer out of his way, before the multitasking facilitators begin to compensate.

After only a few seconds (which probably seem much longer to the terrified passengers), the photoreceptors brighten and the droid replies to Muu's concern: "Your apprehension is duly noted, but I believe an armed escort will adversely impact our ability to gain a favorable proximity to our quarry. Communicate our intentions or call in backup, as you see fit, of course."

With his full attention back on the way ahead, the remainder of their ride should be marginally safer. Hmm.. With that, he turns his head about, taking note of the vehicles behind.. in particular, any that might be following them.. and nearly collides with a building in the process. "I'll just be watching the lanes, then."

Muu just shoots a silent grin back at Oola as he notifies the other padawans of their planned destination. The Iktotchi was clearly new to the investigative process. Surely, he’d have better successes at this than enemy surrender terms compliance or being a shipyard liaison, Muu hoped.

"There is a distinctly.. industrial feel to the undercity. A grittiness that can be felt, tasted even. Teeming with the masses rejected by the upper reaches, banished from the light of day.. There is a desolation here, a loneliness despite the throngs of lost souls, or perhaps because of them?" Kai-wan ceases his narration as he passes a noodle shop and pulls up in front of another small eating establishment. "Too much? I am writing a noir novel."

Undaunted by the lack of encouragement, the droid perseveres: "They pull up outside an incongruously spotless diner amidst the grimy collection of underworld eateries. But for some peeling chromium veneer, and a bit of graffiti along one side, it is a bright spot in a sea of filth." He exits the speeder as he finishes the sentence, and nearly collides with a surly looking Aqualish. "Oh, not you, my fine sir! Well.. perhaps a small spot of filth, right there on your jacket.. Please do excuse me."

"I'm positively famished!" Kai-wan exclaims unconvincingly, heading inside. Selecting a table with an acceptable allowance for legroom, the droid seats himself and scans the room, noting anyone who looks back with too much interest.. and anyone feigning too little.

"I presume an inclusive establishment such as this has something in its exhaustive menu that I might appreciate? An inebriation algorithm, or perhaps just some food for thought?" The waitstaff is as diverse as the patrons, but professional and not overly communicative to the newcomers. It is refreshing in that it is not simply the more usual service droids, though there are a few, including what looked like a protocol droid fallen upon hard times.

The investigators enjoy their repast, and when their Balosar server brings their check, Kai-wan places a gentle digit on his shoulder. "Many compliments to the chef.. er.. programmer..? Perhaps I might have a word with the proprietor? I would very much like to make his acquaintance."

The staff and patrons of the diner would glance at the newcomers, especially the droid. As the lanky waiter moves to the table he would raise an eyebrow as he listens to the metallic speech. He would raise an eyebrow and glance at the other two. 'Um, well, we don't really have anything that a, droid can eat. I guess you can have a menu to read?' he would say as he gingerly slides a datapad towards the droid.

As he takes the orders from the other two he would mutter to Oola 'might want to get that droid serviced'. With that he would head back into the kitchen. The food would arrive shortly after, and it was adequate enough. While the waiter clears plates he would pause at the droids question. 'I can see if he's available'. A few moments later a portly Twi'lek would emerge from the back wearing a greasy apron. 'Can I help you?' he would say in a gruff voice as he waddles towards the table.

"You already have, Chef. It has been a positive delight experiencing your cuisine, by proxy even, as it were. The rich aromas emanating from your kitchen have been an absolute pleasure to process, and I wished to thank the being responsible in the flesh. Bravo. You truly are a master of your craft."

Eating beside the newly formed trio, the Iktotchi notices nothing out of the ordinary inside the diner other than just a few clusters of patrons. As the Chef stops by their table, Muu allows Kai-wan to initiate conversation. Curious to the investigative strategy, he simply demonstrates a kind smile towards the Twi'lek. Nodding, "Yes, thank you for taking a moment of your time. Could you tell us more about this establishment? This is our first visit" he questions, hoping to smooth out any initial awkwardness.

Hmm.. This fellow does not really strike me as the Activist type.. I suppose we have drawn enough attention to ourselves.

Unbeknownst to Kai-wan, his fellow investigators had indeed picked up on a curious table in the corner, with at least one individual displaying quite an interest in their activities.

'Huh, well it's always nice to be appreciated I suppose' the twi'lek would say as he scratches at his chin. 'It's a pretty basic caf, we serve pretty good food for a fair price. Can't ask for much more these days, especially after the war and everything. Why do you ask?'

As the large individual talks to the table, the gathering in the corner of the room watches the jedi with unfriendly expression on their faces.

Oola bangs her glass down, just slightly to attract the attention of the Twi'lek chef. A series of minute movement's of her leku say in leku-speak "hey sorry about the droid, he's an old model needs replacing. Nice joint you have here"

'Now, if you'll excuse me jedi, I do have a lot of work to do' admiral Hindis would declare. She would lower her head and begin to sift through the stack of datapads as if the investigators had never been there. Though it had been a brief meeting, some valuable information had been uncovered. The codes to the station could only be accessed from within the building, the admiral had to be present to access the codes, whoever it was.

The final admiral was admiral Bric. Former army, and arguably the most dedicated background in the military of all the admirals. As the jedi walk into the room they are shocked by the terrific boom of a scattergun going off.  When the jedi had recovered from the initial shock they saw a huge bull of a man stood near the window with his back to them. The window was open and there was a small ***** machine near his feet. Tucked under his arm was an old looking shotgun, cracked open at the middle as the man reloads it. 'Bully!' he would roar as he watched the shattered shards of ***** fall into the distance.

The man is bald with a well polished head and with muscles that almost burst out of his dress uniform. As he turns to face the jedi he could be seen to have a large brown moustache that covers his lips and links into a pair of thick sideburns. 'Aha! You must be the jedi. I am admiral Zacrol Bric! At your service!'

Zoroku is the first to step into the room, he nods as the Admiral greets them, "A pleasure to meet you Admiral. I am Kazz'Oro'Kuruozo and these are my fellow investigators." he would say as he approached the desk in-between them, "As you may have been informed we are here questioning the Admirals, may we ask you a few questions."
