Atlanta Georgia Regionals

Recommended Posts

It’s amazing to see the difference between a city that is used to it (and has to constantly be prepared) versus a city that can’t be expected to have specialist equipment on standby because it might not be used for a decade...

i mean, that looks like a good 3 inches...

~8cm.

at the moment, Hothgary is still heat waving, but when it does snow, we’ll expect 15-20cm overnight, shovel our walks, and drive to work as usual, because all the major roads will have been ploughed twice during the snowfall, an they would have started on secondary connecting roads by 6am...

because they have to be ready for that and sink a budget into it, I guess ?

You shouldn’t be expected to risk your life for work, let alone fun... so kudos for not risking it if you are not personally prepared... I just find the difference starkly interesting.

Yeah. We have more equipment than we used to because of a freak storm a few years back but that really only gets the major roads and interstates. A lot of the more outlying areas don't see jack. And I have a rear wheel drive car with tires that are approaching replacement time so I'm not sure I'd trust their grip out in this.
