darks0uls 21 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Hi, I would want to share how i am creating Tatooine scenery in this post. 3D Printed models Imperial Terrain Desert Urban Dwelling Here is the step by step tutorial about how to prepare, modify and paint this great 3D model: http://pintureando.com/en/tatooine-desert-building-imperial-terrain-star-wars-legion/ And here some finished photos of the building: Rocks: Here are 2 different types of rocks i have created in 2 different ways: Method 1: Method 2: Step by step tutorial with photos here: http://pintureando.com/rocas-de-tatooine-star-wars-legion/ It is in spanish but as you can see all the photos it is very easy to understand. Ask if you have any question! Buildings: I have used a box, Styrofoam ball, PVC foam, some tubes, styrofoam and PVA glue, sand and paints. I have posted more pictures and a tutorial about how to do it in this blog: http://pintureando.com/star-wars-legion-edificio-de-tatooine/ It is in spanish, but i have added a lot of pictures so you shouldn't have problems to understand it. Anyway, you can use Google Translator or ask me if you have any question. This is how it looks once you build it: And this is the final Tatooine building after all the process: Hope you like it! I want to give thanks to JohnnyTrash, because i have based my creation in one of his buildings :-) Edited February 20, 2018 by darks0uls New scenery 7 Sk3tch, Megatronrex, DarkTrooperZero and 4 others reacted to this
Force Majeure 4,108 Posted September 19, 2017 I like how it is such an easy building to create. The surface is more rough than I've seen elsewhere, but it gives it it's own personality. I'd like to see someone try to recreate the really tall building that's in the demo videos. Or any of them really. 1 subtrendy2 reacted to this
galantini 46 Posted September 19, 2017 Personally, I'd sand that surface down a bit - A little too rough for my taste, when you consider the scale you're working to. Nice tutorial. 2 subtrendy2 and Lumberjack Nick reacted to this
subtrendy2 2,975 Posted September 19, 2017 The pipe and the poster are great touches, though! 2 Big Easy and galantini reacted to this
darks0uls 21 Posted September 19, 2017 Thank you for the replies! I am happy that you like this easy tutorial. I agree, i will sand the surface down a bit for the next buildings. This was my first Tatooine building and i was doing some experiments. Anyway, in the photos it seems more granulated than it really is. I mean, seeing it in person is not as grainy as it looks in the photos. 2 Force Majeure and Lumberjack Nick reacted to this
magnumhan 32 Posted September 24, 2017 I do like that poster you added...I'm trying to do little details like that to my mdf buildings...graffiti is what I'm trying to do now...my hands shake too much...gonna have to get my hands on some water transfers or similar ...I'm really trying not to go all overboard with buildings...kinda want to see the terrain guidelines/schema before i got crazy with the cheese wiz
darks0uls 21 Posted February 8, 2018 Hi, I have updated the thread with some rocks for Tatooine. Hope it helps! 1 Force Majeure reacted to this
Force Majeure 4,108 Posted February 8, 2018 @darks0uls Very nice terrain pieces! Do you mind doing a quick overview of how you made the rocks and the spire (before painting)? I imagine you used wet paper towels or similar coated with PVA to seal & add strength on the spires, but what's underneath? The rocks are harder for me to guess on how you built them. skirmisher 92 Posted February 8, 2018 (edited) The recruitment poster is a brilliant touch. Really roots it in the Galactic Civil War. Well done Edited February 8, 2018 by skirmisher 1 docForsaken reacted to this

I'm also working on a Tatooine board, but I am stuck trying to figure out what color acrylic paint that I should use. Your colors look exactly what I was thinking. I know it is in Spanish, but do you know what the colors are called in English?

I also have some Imperial Terrain, it's great. Marking the colors on a sheet beforehand is a great idea. Thanks a lot!
