[MAFIA] Sands of the New Republic - DAY 1

Recommended Posts

To be frank I can't really imagine either of you as town. For me it was too clear that Caldias and JJ were the Red Keys and they were the imminent danger. Yet both of you seemed reluctant to vote...

Now I'm thinking about a way to somehow verify which one of you is the cultist. I'm finally close to win a game and being even alive while doing so, so I don't want to make a hasty judgement. If we would eventually fail I want it to be due a good cult play not to a coin toss :P

Does either of you happen to have a bulletproof vest? If both of you would have, it would make things so much easier...

I have NO idea why this was so clear to you, and you couldn't accept that GNips was a Hutt.

In the end, Pod turned out to be one too.

How was it NOT the right play to have indecision on it?

I had my suspicions about Gnips too but I deliberately ignored them back then. I still think we were at lylo or close to it when I killed Cal and JJ and as they already controlled a significant part of the votes I didn't want the discussion to deviate from that to whether it would have been better to lynch Gnips or someone else. It seems that I was right. If Gnips didn't get shot he would have been high on my list during the hunt for the last cult leader. Although I have to admit, initially I thought that Pod was the leader and Gnips could have been recruited later.

I'll be out of touch for a few hours now but I'll be back before the day ends.

It kinda bugs me that you still think you were right. Yes you burned two from Red, but the leader seemed a whole lot more important in a cult game.

Well obviously I don't know if I were right. But it made sense, and if I'm right and there is one more Red Key left, it will make sense at the end of the game as well :P The kills/lynches so far proved my theory. Pod was Hutt, JJ and Caldias were Red Key. Ok, I wasn't sure about Gnips but it doesn't matter anyway because he was shot.

@CaribbeanNinja are you willing to risk that you're wrong and losing the game? I told so many times that I wasn't converted. I don't know why, but I have my ideas, I expressed them in length above. I think my whole play should speak for itself: I'm not a cultist. By the way, how did I become suddenly a Black Sun after being accused of being a Hutt first?

@Onidsen your silence indicates it would be fine by you if we do a no-lynch today and wait for the next day. Is that correct?

(Aren't we ALL risking the game at this point?!) :)

Basically here are my options:

I know I'm a town fisherman (y'all do not)

Norell has a power that is verified.

Onidsen has laid low all game, but has been in the same boat and thought process (I think) as me as far as I'm concerned.

It all comes down to whether I believe Norell is an ascetic.  It is tough, because Broba was, and that seems way overpowered to me.  But it is possible.

By my calculations we have less than 4 hours.

Guess we better make a decision,  then. Problem is, I can still see a case for either of you. It's a 50/50 chance of picking the right person.

On the one hand,  those are the best odds we get all game.  On the other, I always seem to lose 50/50 chances.

Interesting that it seems to have come down to CNinja and Norell sniping at each other. Norell has cast some suspicion my way, but although CNinja hasn't been willing to vote,  he's only focused on Norell.

You became suspected Black Sun after circumstances proved that you couldn't be anything other than Black Sun or town.

A no lynch would be... risky. I don't have an investigative item right now, so it would take 2 nights to pay off. Assuming I even get lucky enough to fish one. And, if CNinja is evil, it gives him another night to fish for a gun, or to use one if he got it last night.

I plead that we do not "No lynch" just for the sake of finishing this... :)

Agreed.  Like I said when I first brought it up,  it might be the strategic choice,  but it isn't a fun one.

Case for Norell: unless he's ascetic, there's no way he wasn't converted after burning Gink

Case for CNinja: Didn't hammer caldias when he had the chance.  The other option if Norell is ascetic.

With a last draw og the pistol, another corpse to the list, this one quite recognizable...

@Norell died,he was a fugitive Inferno Squad member, a SELF-aligned Hated (Ascetic) Arsonist!

And the mission successfully gets the New Republic to fund the further hunting of local warlords! Town wins!

I do belive I owe some apologies due to the setup...
