Characters and Units We Want to See in LEGION

Recommended Posts

Page's commandos would be a godsend.

It's a given, but I'll still put a vote in for Scout trooper snipers

I kinda think I'd enjoy building a table replicating Whistler's Whirlpool... which lead to the thought that I'd like to see Chariot LAV's (and they'd be ideal scale and concept wise)

Can you imagine Darth Vader being killed by anybody else? I hope so, 'cos you're probably gonna see it multiple times in this game ;)

My impression from the movies was, that it would take a lightsaber. Not that a sniper wouldn't be much more realistic, mind. But Star Wars takes place in a galaxy far, far away from realism.

I guess there would be some blasterfire reflection ability for people like darth vader and luke skywalker.  According th the game mecanic shooting a sniper at vader might be the last thing you want to do.

I'd like to see some kind of sniper character that would ignore armor.

Only vehicles have armor, so if you want the sniper to kill infantry I think a rule about choosing the model hit might make more sense. That way you could take out a special weapons model without having to go through all the basic models first.

Runewars has a mechanic that allows you to spend an Accuracy (one of the die results) to allow you to pick which model takes the wound (instead of the defender picking).

I could definitely see a sniper unit who can use the surge result to wound a specific model.

This would allow you to remove "upgrade" troops, like the rotary cannon guy, otherwise you are just picking a model that has the same stats as the rest on the base card. I approve.

that's not how wound allocation works in runewars.

Yeah...  I realized that after I wrote it.  I didn't bother editing the comment because it's close enough to make my point.  There is still an Accuracy/Snipe mechanic that allows the attacker to damage a miniature he/she normally wouldn't be able to damage.

Would love to see prequels droids armies, and clone troopers. Even old republic and sith era armies.

clones would be awesome. Darth Revan, or Jedi revan, would be a whole new level of awesome.

I know I have commented in this thread previously but the Prequel Era does make much more sense for this type game as the battles and the Clone War being fought WAS the main plot line of these films. In the prequels we saw a war being waged. In the Original Trilogy we saw a few skirmishes and VERY LITTLE ground combat.

We saw the Rebel forces narrowly escape being annihilated on Yavin by way of space combat. We saw the Rebels being driven from Hoth. We saw the Ewoks change the tide of battle on Endor, but the real victory was once again the destruction of the Death Star.

There were no battles in the Original Trilogy for us to reference a game being made to re-enact it. The real battles of the Galactic Civil War took place in Hard cover and Paper back in the now "NON-CANON" Expanded Universe that Disney has discredited by all accounts.

Whatever FFG does please do not allow them to let Kathleen Kennedy to get her grubby feminist mitts on any of these properties. I have no problem with the inclusion of female heroes, I am a huge SWIA fan and there are several female named heroes, and I enjoy what they bring to the game through the campaign and skirmish mode.

I said it before and I will say it again, I want the inclusion of Scarif Troopers, Death Troopers, Rebel Pilots and Imperial Pilots (Tie and or AT-AT) and Imperial Navy Troopers. The Rebel Troopers will fit in both Original Trilogy and Rogue One timeline.

These are probably a given, with perhaps the exception of pilots depending on what FFG is thinking.

Though I'm not clear on exactly what the difference is between the Rogue One and Original trilogy timelines would be seeing as they are literally separated by nothing more that a set of closing credits and and opening crawl...

It's likely we'll also see things like Imperial Jetpack troopers, and so on.

Wookiee warriors, Trandoshan hunters/slavers, Imperial scout troopers, Rebel scouts/pathfinders, ISB/Imperial spies.

Lots of aliens on the Rebel side. Even if they do whole specialized units (Wookiees, Dressellians, etc.) I'd be cool with it.

I can see them doing a Scum faction. As long as they allow for players to incorporate them into their Rebel or Imperial armies.

I don't particularly dislike them, but I'd be fine without the short, quirky species (Ewoks, Jawas).

To be fair, routing an entire Gungan army would give me some form of much needed prequel closure.

But if you love to one you (I would) have to smash all my pieces, and cry.  :D
