Here's the exact text I'm referring to (emphasis mine): Quote Hatamoto Gallery The first Hatamotos will be promoted at the Kiku Matsuri and Honored Preview Events before the first Winter Court World Championships! These esteemed players will retain their status until the next Winter Court World Championship in 2018. Will you be among them? Starting later in 2017, the Kotei Series will become the source of all new Hatamotos. More details are coming soon about the Kotei Series and how you can earn Hatamoto status at those events!
